Vox Day Has Linked to an Amazing Research Project

Vox  has linked to a study that was done to test what level of shoddy research and what amount of left wing gobbledygook would get an academic paper in one of the social sciences rejected.  The answer apparently is that any amount of nonsense is acceptable in those fields.  In fact, the crazier the paper, the more likely it will be received favorably.  Remarkable.  Here’s Vox’s link.

A buddy of mine and I joked about doing something similar years ago: enrolling in liberal arts Ph.D. programs and pretend to be outrageous Leftists. We’d get our catskins, then rip off the masks and reveal our true conservative selves. I can’t help but wonder, though, if immersing ones self so fully into Leftist academia wouldn’t begin to transform the participant subtly. That’s the whole reason the Left seeks to seize our educational institutions–it can plant the seeds of its destructive ideology into impressionable minds, making the most ridiculous (and, in many cases, evil) ideas seem tenable.
    Thanks for sharing, OCF.

Tyler, the only way I can see to fix all this is to pull the federal funding from moron studies. If that means restricting college aid to degrees that actually provide the basis for a job (engineering, business subjects, professional programs and applicable sciences) then it should be done. It’s sad that history and the humanities will have to be abandoned but it’s necessary to cut these idiots loose. Thanks for stopping by.
