I was invited to a garden party in North Carolina, once. I was invited as I had rendered a service to one of the family as they were way above my income level as an enlisted man. They were gracious, however and I had a ball. The best part was that they had bought a load of various native butterflies and released them at the beginning of the party. The butterflies were everywhere. On hats, on ladies hairdos, on tables and cups and glasses and shoulders and on all the plants. If you held your hand out one would perch there. It was like a bomb had exploded butterflies. Absolutely delightful. Never been to a party like that since.

This place is a little like that. If you go before the general admission at 9am the butterflies are still sleeping on branches. As it warms up they become active and at times several of them will perch on your shoulders and head. Coming up I have a picture of five or six of them together on a branch resting. At other times they can fill the air around you with a cloud of fluttering wings.
