03JAN2020 – Quote of the Day

What would things have been like [in Russia] if during periods of mass arrests people had not simply sat there, paling with terror at every bang on the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people?

If that had been during the Stalin era, I think perhaps Uncle Joe would have been vying with Mao for 1st Place rather than his actual distant 2nd or 3rd in the “Despot-responsible-for-record-number-of-murders-of-own-countrymen” Category.

Pol Pot’s #1 record for “highest-percentage-of own-countrymen-murdered” Category, while not contending with Uncle Joe’s in sheer numbers is, I think, safe for all time.

There seems to be some strange similarity to the top place finishers in this and other related categories. Let me think, oh yes, they are all Leftist Totalitarians. What a coincidence.

Edit: There is now an edit function. Thanks.

I usually use a free piece of software called Faststone Photo Resizer to reduce my shots of sometimes ridiculous file size and pixel count to around 1080P and a couple of hundred Kb for any distribution. I keep the raw originals of course. This shot is 1080

Edit: That’s interesting. I used my regular embed code but it doubled the image.
