To be honest, this could be said about any policy: Freedom of speech, religion, assembly, etc.
Remember when the US claimed equality under the law? No special privileges for anyone?
Those were good times.
How I miss them.
It reminds me of that scene in the Lord of the Rings during the Scouring of the Shire.

If we all got angry together something might be done.
