Angelo Codevilla is one of the deep thinkers over at the Claremont Institute and I’ve been following his writings since 2016 when he and Michael Anton were sounding the alarm that the American Republic was about to be euthanized by the Clinton/Obama crime family. In this sizable (8,000+ words!) essay he comprehensively lays out his explanation of how we got where we are and what we will have to do going forward if we hope to recover some of our freedoms. He is pretty pessimistic about our chances and rightly so I think. Anyway this is a pretty deep dive and he goes over a lot of things that we all are aware of but from his own way of looking at it. I eat this stuff up. Your mileage may vary.
I enjoyed the section where she looked at the cognitive dissonance and panic when an academic tried to point out the equivalence between the transgender and trans-racial delusions. Only difference; one is dogma, the other is heresy.
The Tribal Morality of Identity Politics
Without a doubt Yarvin must have a dizzying intellect. Reading his narrative is like taking a graduate course in sociology from Einstein. I feel like I’ll need to read it three more times to make sure I followed all his points. Basically he’s explaining why Progressives believe the nonsense they believe. He used climate science as an example and it is interesting. Support for the Progressive worldview allows Leftists to feel good about themselves by believing that the warming narrative makes sense. It’s a dense read but if you liked Part 1, you’ll have to continue down the rabbit hole..
The Clear Pill, Part 2 of 5: A Theory of Pervasive Error
Awhile back I linked to a post by Michael Anton in which he reviewed a self-published book called Bronze Age Mindset. Well the author of that book was given a chance to address the content of the post over at Claremont’s American Mind webpage. I’ve linked to it below. If you are at all interested in the dissident community that was the on-line heart of Donald Trump’s support in 2016 then you may find this article very informative. I did. The pseudonymous author (Bronze Age Pervert) is extremely persuasive in laying out his case for the need, or rather, the unavoidable certainty of the collapse of the current liberal worldview. Highly recommended read.
America’s Delusional Elite Is Done
Mencius Moldbug (aka Curtis Yarvin) was the tech savant who got interested in the power structures of the modern world. He is credited with borrowing the red pill/blue pill imagery from the “The Matrix” and using it as an analogy for waking up to how the world really is run.
In this new set of posts, over at Claremont Institute’s “the American Mind,” he describes, in his typically long, highly elaborate way, a thought experiment to try to get at the objective truth of how our society is actually controlled as opposed to the official version.
Yarvin is not an easy read. His writing style is expansive. It reminds me of a spider spinning a web that spirals out and out until you can’t even remember where you started. But I find him extremely interesting.
The Clear Pill, Part 1 of 5: The Four-Stroke Regime
William Voegeli has an article at Claremont Review of Books titled RACISM, REVISED.
In it he reviews the New York Times (NYT) differeing stance on racism committed by white people and non-white people. The case in point is their employee Sarah Jeong. She has a Twitter history that is littered with the most egregious anti-white bias imaginable. But the NYT waived their hands at this and said it was those evil white trolls that made her do it. But when an equivalent bias was shown by a white person, off with his head. Very interesting read.
Long time readers of this web site know I am a big fan of Michael Anton or as he was known when he authored the Flight 93 Election, “Publius Decius Mus.” He, Angelo Codevilla and other members of the Claremont Institute have thrown their support behind the Trump presidency and its attempt to save the country from the globalist cabal of democrats and establishment republicans who want to turn it into their private fiefdom. Anton went to work for the Trump administration and now is re-entering private life. And he is leaving on very good terms with the President and his administration despite what the press contends. I found this article interesting.
Michael Anton Addresses His Critics, Affirms Support for Trump
Peterson is part of the Claremont Institute and they seem to be the most perceptive pundits out there.
“Eight years ago, Claremont Institute Senior Fellow Angelo Codevilla called it the “Ruling Class,” a popular thesis which he turned into a book (The Ruling Class) and used deftly to explain the 2016 election and its aftermath. Michael Anton, in perhaps the most significant essay of the election, called it the “Davoisie oligarchy,” or the “Davos class” and recently coined the word the “oligogues” to describe the majority of elites in their camp that flatter and support them.”
Peterson hits all the high points and identifies what is really going on. The deep state is rejecting the people’s choice for President because he is an outsider and because they think they can.
Definitely a good read.
