American Mind Has an Interesting Article – The Separation

This is a pretty long article  with a good amount of prefacing discussion about where we are as a country.

The Separation

But by the end he gets to the nub of what he thinks we need to do, loosen the Union:

“The Separation is not a departure as much as return to the Constitution of the founders. The Articles of Confederation foundered on the three key functions required of the federal power: an effective army, a unified foreign policy, and a treasury that can incur liabilities for national functions. The federal government would retain its authority and taxing power for these functions.

Activities outside these spheres and the refereeing of interstate issues would be seated with the states. Broader latitude is provided to the states to effect and fund policies for their citizens. Blue states would no longer “subsidize” Red states. Greater funding for everything from climate change to social programs will be possible. The dust would be blown off the 9th and 10th Amendments.”

When he gets down to the amendments to the constitution it becomes a little less clear cut to me whether this is the simplest way:

“The Separation can be effected with a limited number of amendments to the Constitution: 1) a new amendment circumscribing the federal mandate to conform with the core functions above, 2) adjustment of the 16th Amendment to tie the taxing power to these functions, 3) elimination of the 17th Amendment so the state legislatures again elect Senators, 4) a new amendment formally providing the Supreme Court the power of judicial review but focusing that power on matters related to federal and interstate issues (i.e., the final word on the right to bear arms, free speech and abortion would be in state courts), and 5) a new amendment providing federal term limits.”

But this kind of idea is I think the direction we need to go.  What we have is a marriage that isn’t working.  Giving each side some space is the best option.  Whether it will happen is the question we have to answer.

Political Realities of America – Part 1

After what we’ve seen on display during the last four years it seems clear to me that the people in charge of the Democrat party have a stranglehold on almost all the levers of power that exist at the national level in the United States.  And more than that, they control the majority of the power at the state and local level.

It’s probably easier to name the ones they don’t control.  The Republicans control the legislatures and state houses of about half the states and have a hair thin majority in the US Senate.  That’s it.  Our side has almost none of the major media companies, corporations, universities, non-profits, professional societies, unions, banks, financial institutions, publishers or any of the departments of the bureaucracy that we call the Deep State.  Even the Supreme Court that we supposedly have appointed by a six to three margin heaps defeat after defeat on us.  We don’t even control the capital cities of the states that we do hold.  Basically, every city large enough to have a welfare population is controlled by the Democrats.

This is not a new situation.  This has been the status quo for as long as there has been a United States.  The descendants of the New England Puritans have been expanding and consolidating their control over the areas that they’ve colonized since they got here in the seventeenth century.  They control the Northeast, the Great Lakes region, The Pacific Coast and they’ve been expanding off of those areas continuously.  Now they’ve reached down to Virginia in the east and the wretched Californians that ruined their own state are destroying Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and soon enough, the rest of the Mountain West.

They’ve got a very effective model.  It has nothing to do with freedom, equality or anything like that.  It’s strictly a matter of gaining control by power politics.  They’ll paper it over by claiming that they are fighting the evil racists or whatever bogeyman they’ve concocted to bamboozle the simple-minded poor people they pay off for votes.  But if buying votes isn’t enough, they have perfected stealing elections by fabricating votes in urban districts.

All of this has been on open display since Election Day.  Unprecedented vote totals were unleashed in the early hours of November 4th as soon as it became clear that President Trump was going to win in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Wisconsin.  Not even a fig leaf was maintained that a fair election was going on.  The Republican poll watchers were forced out and the trucks backed up to the buildings and poured in the bogus ballots by the hundreds of thousands.

At this point in the process it’s entirely possible that the Supreme Court will be so ashamed of allowing a presidential election be stolen in plain view that they will do something to stop it.  I’d say it’s fifty-fifty.  John Roberts is a worthless, spineless traitor so if we win it will be at best a 5-4 vote.  But even if the President prevails and we get a four-year reprieve it is still necessary to look realistically at the way this country works and plan accordingly.  And if the Supreme Court stabs us in the back again then we have two months to decide how we will deal with the facts on the ground.

I think we have three choices.  Fold, flee or fight.  Surrender to the hive, leave the areas under their control, or fight them.

And I’m guessing it’s not completely clear to anyone which of these choices is best.

So, let’s look first at Option 1, Fold.  Think about it.  You know plenty of people who don’t believe in the leftist madness but who have responsible positions in the corporate and government circles who have to spout the party line and burn incense to Baal.  Their kids go to Yale and Columbia and they write their memos that pledge allegiance to diversity and inclusion and make sure they have a man in a dress working for them in the HR department.  Sure, they have to choke back the cognitive dissonance when they say the things that are expected of them.  But they get paid very well to do it.  They get all the perks that go along with membership in the lower ranks of the managerial elite.  They live in safe neighborhoods; their kids go to the best schools and all the right doors get opened to them in all avenues of life.  They belong to the right clubs and organizations.  They vacation on Martha’s Vineyard or the Hamptons and they get invited to all the best parties and gatherings.

I even know people who say they can keep up this charade while still protecting their kids from the madness that goes along with the propaganda and proselytizing that the sexual deviants that run our public schools practice.  Maybe they can.  Maybe it’s possible to live inside the hive in complete disguise and maintain a normal life.  If it is then my hat’s off to these people.  I don’t seem to be able to do it.  Listening to the proclamations from the Ministries of Peace, Truth and Love are just too much for my little brain to ignore.  But I’m not everyone.  So, there are probably a bunch of people who will take the blue pill and get on with their lives inside the hive.

How about Option 2, Flee.  Let’s define that a little bit.  It could mean moving from a blue city to the surrounding rural areas of a red state.  Or it could be moving from a blue state to a red state.  Or it could mean leaving the country.  All of these are calculations that a man has to make.  Leaving a city is the easiest choice.  It’s a thing you’d do even if the city wasn’t a political prison.  Lots of folks have always left cities in order to take advantage of the lower costs and property values associated with getting out of the crowded and expensive cities.  But I can personally attest to the unsatisfying result of moving from a blue city to a blue state suburb.  It will lessen your chances of suffering violent crime and give your kids half decent schools but that’s about it.  Now these first two choices end up with someone living in a red state.  That is something.  And if the state is deep red then you will notice a big change.  Living in a place where you’re still allowed to say what you really think and surrounded by mostly normal people is like a dream come true for a deplorable living in a blue state.  And in such a place the schools will be much less destructive of normal ideas about the world.  But even in red states you’re going to deal with the realities of living in America.  Affirmative action and all the other programs that take away the freedom of association and choice that we’re supposed to enjoy is still the law of the land.  So, the move isn’t a cure for the American condition just a less serious case.  And as the leftists tighten the screws through the courts and their corporate allies it will be less and less of an improvement.  Now the only way to completely escape the leftists is to leave the country.  But that brings up a separate predicament.  Where exactly is it better than here?  Moving to Canada or Australia or Europe is at best a mixed situation.  None of those places have even the pretense of a bill of rights.  And all of them are run by elites that have approximately the same program as our masters here.  There may be some places that would be less oppressive like some of the eastern European countries but think of the dislocation you and your family would experience being a stranger in a strange land.  But I know many people who are thinking of exactly this trade-off.

And now we come to Option 3, Fight.  But that’s a long story and I’ll keep that for Part 2.  But I will say that the first two option are pretty awful for someone who believes in the ideals that America is supposed to represent.  You could see why staying and fighting would be the option you would want to take.  We’ll talk about that next.

The Question Has Been Answered

For a long time I have been trying to decide if there was a way to get back to where we were even sixteen years ago when even a country divided by war and partisan allegiance could rally around the institutions of the American government and respect the processes and practices that allowed us to work through our differences in a peaceful and reasonable way.

Even after the lunacy that the Left unleashed in their cities during the BLM riots I thought that a presidential election could allow us to find a way forward based on the will of the majority.  Well, that’s been shown to be an illusion.  Based on the way the election was run in the Democrat cities in the swing states it’s crystal clear to me that there is no way forward for the United States as one nation.  Even if the Supreme Court does their duty and negates all the fraudulent votes and awards the win to President Trump there is no longer any credibility to the idea that the Left will deal with us as countrymen.  They have shown us that we are their enemies and at this point we have no choice but to reciprocate that.

I do not know how this will play out.  There are so many options that run the gamut from polite dissolution of the union to full blown civil war that I won’t even attempt to figure out how this will go.  But what it does mean is that we need to start looking at the facts on the ground and come up with strategies and tactics to start moving forward to a resolution of our status.  For those who live in occupied territory (blue states) you may want to figure out how to move to a relatively free area (red states).  You may want to start to start getting involved in the political process to try and steer the changes that will start to occur.  There will be all kinds of things we’ll have to start thinking about and doing but the first thing is to get it into your head that this isn’t going to go away.  You’re going to have to pick a side.  Even if President Trump is awarded the election win by the Supreme Court that will only provide a short respite during which you can get your affairs in order.

If Biden is allowed to steal the election then expect things to get a lot worse very quickly.  Changes in the law will curtail your freedom of speech and religion and maybe even your right to own a gun.  This site may be shut down due to government censorship.  But whatever happens try to act logically and work toward goals that minimize the impact of government control on your ability to live your life the way you want.  Look for like minded people to form a network with.  Use this network to develop a social group that can provide a community that reinforces the things you believe in and protects you and your family from the controlled external environment that surrounds us.

So, if you consider yourself on the right of the left/right divide then know that we aren’t going back to a better time when there was one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.  There are two nations and only our nation cares about the rest of those things.  Be alert and be careful.  These are going to be very challenging times.

Plans for November 3rd and the Days Following

Nota Bene: This is a frivolous post about how I intend to celebrate Election Day this year.  I will provide myself a fig leaf to justify this childishness by also discussing the serious topic of safety from mob violence during these dangerous times.  Fair warning has been served.

If President Trump is declared the winner on Election Day or shortly thereafter, I think it is reasonable for people to anticipate that there could be some serious safety issues in certain areas of the country.  And this is not idle or far-fetched reasoning.  The Left has already mobilized small guerilla bands to lead riots and arson attacks on all the major cities that they control politically.  It is only common sense that they might unleash a spasm of violence and destruction to protest the ultimate repudiation of their political stance.

If you live or work near one of these cities, I think it would be prudent to take certain precautions that week.  First of all be sure to listen to the local news and avoid any areas that have become habitual protest locales.  Figure out what work-arounds you can use to give them a wide berth.  Make sure you don’t have any Trump or Republican messages on your car or your person.  If you work in town but live outside leave early on election night and don’t stick around for any reason.  Postpone any activities in the city until the election madness wears off.

If I were planning ahead for this situation, I would consider calling in sick if you have any doubts at all about the chance of being caught up in a riot or other form of unrest.  Basically, it’s just not worth the risk.  With the whole COVID thing going on and remote work becoming so prevalent, it wouldn’t be difficult to get a day or two out of the office.

As for myself, I’m going to camp out and watch the whole nightmare from start to finish.  It’s become something of a tradition to watch the late state returns into the morning hours and listen to the clueless talking heads trying to justify whatever surprises emerge in the results.  I’m anticipating a Republican wave for the President, the House and the Senate so I’m hoping to end the evening by listening to lefty reporters and celebrities wailing and gnashing their teeth as YouTube fills up with blue haired women screaming and hyperventilating over their rage and despair in a replay of 2016.  In fact, in a couple of weeks I intend to start working on the menu to go with the Election Night party.  I’m thinking earlier on we can go with deli sandwiches, corned beef, pastrami and roast beef.  This will of course require potato salad and some kind of soup, maybe a sausage and bean.  Later on, we’ll go with smaller items, maybe pigs in a blanket with brown mustard.  And at the end of the night I’d say some kind of ice cream course.

And this plan will be in effect regardless of how the election returns or the write-in ballots or the judicial shenanigans play out.  The days when I hung on the edge of my seat worrying how Ohio or Florida or Pennsylvania votes is long gone.  This is all in-the-moment skirmishing that doesn’t settle anything.  We no longer have one nation making up its mind on what it wants its future to be.  We’re just watching two diametrically opposed nations wrestling with each other in a mostly bloodless conflict.  It’s like two men fighting for control of the steering wheel of a moving vehicle.  There’s no clear way for one or the other to take control and at all times the possibility of a fatal crash is highly likely.  We seem to be waiting for one side or the other to declare an end to the charade.

But that doesn’t mean we have to wallow in misery.  Life is to be enjoyed and even in the midst of hatred and insanity we must not miss out on all the things that make it good.  Election Day is in between Halloween and Thanksgiving and I intend to celebrate both those things and even have a little fun on Election Day too.  Live blogging the event is a given.  If we win and can celebrate the despair of our enemies all the better.  If not, then splendiferous foods will have to make up for it.

So, as you can see, I like to turn a negative into an opportunity to enjoy the catastrophe that is heading our way.  But whether you celebrate the election or head to bed early to avoid the stress and strain I am completely serious about taking precautions against some kind of insurrection by the Left.  These people are very angry and a little bit desperate.  They are trying to frighten us and apparently no longer worry about niceties like the law and human decency.  So, stay way out of their way and live to see the better day that we expect to dawn on November 4th when President Trump is re-elected and his new Republican House joins the enlarged Republican Majority in actually doing some legislating for a change.  Like maybe funding the rest of the Wall and ending trade with China.

Oregon Has Legalized Murdering Conservatives

It’s an extraordinary thing.  Antifa can now murder conservatives with complete impunity.  The local and state authorities won’t even pursue the killer, even when he’s been identified by video evidence.  Oregon has now become a banana republic.  There are officially two laws, one for the people in charge and a separate one for the deplorables.  I expect this will make it clear to everyone on our side that this is no longer one country but two.  On their soil you no longer have the rights of an American and your life has no value to the authorities.  Of course, it really is a valuable piece of information to have.  It should provide context for decisions that many of us will have to make in the future.

It’s an extraordinary thing.  This used to be the greatest country in the world.  Now large parts of it are lunatic asylums.  A place like Portland, Oregon has descended into madness, the likes of which, you have to go all the way back to the French Revolution’s reign of terror to find.  The lunatics in the street and the lunatics in the city hall and the governor’s mansion have definitively thrown away, law, order and sanity.  I can understand the politicians.  They’re just prostitutes doing whatever they think the voters want them to do.  But the majority of people in Oregon have acquiesced in the madness and probably mostly agree with it.  Minneapolis is the same way.  New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, all the large cities have followed the same plan.  They plan to allow looters and arsonists to hold their citizens hostage until the November election.  If they think it will throw the election to President Trump they may convince the maniacs to go into hiding for a few months but this is the cultural revolution they plan to punish us with for as long as it takes to destroy us.

Hopefully, the murder of that fellow in Portland by the Antifa thug and the state’s tacit approval of it should be enough to awaken any real Americans who are still asleep.  If that doesn’t wake them then they’re already dead from the neck up already.  What everyone needs to understand is that we no longer have the possibility of compromise.  The two sides are diametrically opposed and have no common ground.  The only question is how the struggle will be waged.  It is obvious that they no longer consider our leaders legitimate.  We should adopt the same opinion concerning theirs.  If Joe Biden occupies the White House in 2021 he will be an enemy that I will work against in any way I can.  If President Trump prevails in November I hope he uses all means at his disposal to purge the federal government of Democrat cabalists and uses his time in paring down the bureaucracy to weaken our enemies there.  He should provide all means of support at his disposal for the red states and do everything in his power to weaken and demoralize the blue states.  Any other policy would be a waste of time.

Assume that the election will be a dirty, dishonest slugfest with fraud and violence front and center.  Whatever means are used by the Republicans to win won’t be questioned by me.  They should bring in as many sleazy lawyers and dishonest judges as they can find.  Granted we’ll never be able to match the numbers that the Democrats have but we should try.  They should cut deals with whatever power brokers they can to sew up whatever support is out there.  They should use identity politics wherever it gives them an advantage and promise any ridiculous things that will get them a win on November 3rd.

It’s an extraordinary thing.  I never thought I’d say this but we aren’t going back to what we were before.  We are in a new world.  We have to weigh every option to see how it helps our side and weakens theirs.  And if you’re behind enemy lines watch your back.  These people don’t like you and they’d prefer you dead.  There is absolutely no reason to be honest with them.  Find people from our side to socialize with and avoid the pod people under any and all circumstances.  They aren’t worth it.  Not even for mockery.  They aren’t worth it.  And if you can escape into the free America I highly recommend it.  Let’s hope it will be a relatively bloodless civil war.  But either way it’s already begun.

A Reminder of the Magnificence of Normal Family Life

Here in the Orwellian gulag that is Woke New England even family gatherings are a fatal thought-crime punishable by whatever means is imagined most effective at discouraging the proles from following so sinful an example.  And mothers of young children are the easiest to frighten into following whatever bizarre and depressing rules are forced upon them.

And so, throughout this sad exercise in government overreach my grandchildren have for the most part been held away from me and Camera Girl by their parents mostly out of fear for our health.  And no grandfather is foolish enough to argue with his daughter when she is concerned about the health of her children.  All you can say is, “Do what you think is best for the kids.”

But yesterday was a great day, a turning of the tide.  My daughter and my son-in-law brought over our grandsons for a barbecue and games in the yard.  No masks, no distancing, no nothing.  Camera Girl outdid herself with wonderful food that we enjoyed on the porch with badminton and other outdoor pursuits.  The four boys immediately reverted to true form and scuffled and bickered about every interaction.  It was glorious.  Even the weather was cooperative.  It was overcast and the temperature hovered around 75 degrees which meant no swimming pool but just the perfect temperature for me to participate in sporting activity without breaking a sweat.  And that allowed me to spend the maximum time with the kids instead of the adults.  Perfect.

I got to talk with my oldest grandson about his sophomore high school curriculum and offer help with chemistry and math if he needed it.  I talked to his brother about his eighth-grade classes and his sports interests.   And with the two younger guys I just talked dinosaurs and toys.  Apparently, T. rex still reigns supreme with the four-year-old although opened up an alternative category for herbivores and awarded it to Diplodocus.

I also got to talk to my daughter and son-in-law about how they were keeping these housebound boys busy this summer and was impressed by their ingenuity and energy.  I will confess I wouldn’t have had the stamina.  And it did my heart good to see Camera Girl laughing and playing with her younger grandsons and indulging all of their food requests up to and including various ice cream products that are forbidden to me!  I could tell that she was reveling in this socializing just as much as I was.

When they finally went home after a full day of fun, we cleaned up the wreckage of the gathering and traded favorite moments and observations on how much the boys had grown.  And it was then that I realized what an empty world this crazy quarantine has created.  What they say about not knowing what you have until it’s gone was made blindingly clear yesterday.

So, forgive this long rambling preamble into my domestic situation.  The point of this essay is acknowledging the real damage that isolating family members does and a philosophical question on quality of life.  If you are a grandparent being shut out of your grandchildren’s lives is a depressing and painful thing.  If children’s educations are interrupted that is a dangerous loss to our whole society.

Formerly we always placed the welfare of children before everything else.  If you are a grandparent how much of your grandchildren’s lives are you willing to waste to slightly increase your own odds of living?  Now admittedly I’m not the highest risk of dying from COVID-19.  I’m at the beginning of the age demographic affected but my health is reasonably robust.  So maybe this thing isn’t real enough to me make me afraid.  On the other hand, someone in our family died of the virus and another person needed hospital care and cutting-edge medicine to survive it.  So maybe I am aware of the stakes.

From my point of view, I would say the children ought to be allowed to go to school.  If there are teachers who are at risk, they should be retired, at least temporarily, at attractive financial terms and let the kids get on with their lives.  The people at greatest risk from all this are the elderly and the chronically ill who live in homes with school age children.  Let the doctors figure out the best way to protect these people and let everyone else get back to normal life.

Saving the sick and elderly is a laudable humanitarian goal.  But what can you say about a society that sacrifices the precious youth of a generation to marginally advantage the life span of the very old?  Do we duck and cover every year during flu season?  After all, the same elderly population is the one that accounts for 90% of the tens of thousands of flu deaths that occur every year in the United States alone.  Are we denying that people, especially the very frail and sick will die eventually?  Have we lost all sense of proportion?  And does that mean grandmothers and great grandmothers have forfeited permanently the right to hug and kiss their grandchildren and great grandchildren?  That’s pretty sad.  I guess I can’t speak for anyone but myself but I vote to end this madness and if I keel over tomorrow from COVID-19 or any other virus that the Chinese dig out of a cave I’ll go happy knowing I got to share a meal with my family and play a game of ball with my grandsons.

No Time for Mourning

We find ourselves in a very strange place.  By we I mean the people who grew up in “the America that was.”  We remember a wonderful place that was almost a heaven on earth.  That’s not to say there weren’t innumerable problems and all manner of divisions between people but the great majority of its citizens were happy to live under the laws and customs that had existed for generations and wanted their children and grandchildren to do the same.  Prosperity and normalcy were the rule and the exceptions could be handled by the safety nets and agencies that steered people and activities in the directions that led to stability.

All of that has been swept away.  Not only is normalcy and prosperity gone but it is vilified by a great number of the young.  The new ideal is dependency and minimalism.  The government will provide you with a pauper’s wage and you will subsist on it and no more.  No thought of thriving and producing a family.  In fact, family is an evil.  Children are a plague on the Earth in its fevered state.  Better to live in your parent’s basement and play video games and wait for death.  Everything about “the America that was,” is anathema.  Her founding, her prosperity, her victories and fantastic creations.  All of them are fruits of evil and must be renounced and abandoned.  And we are told that it will only continue to move in that direction until a solid majority believe these things and vote in leaders who will make this the permanent opinion.

Whether this is true or not is still unclear to me.  It seems strange that the children and grandchildren of free men would degenerate so quickly that they would be willing to grovel at the feet of thugs and madmen.  But I will have to say there does seem to be a whole lot of spineless Americans abasing themselves and whining about the sins of their fathers.

Well, it is what it is.  Maybe the cultural Marxists have won, maybe they haven’t.  But the important thing to realize is that we will spend a good part of our lives living in the New America.  Even if over the course of several decades we finally vanquish the Marxists and restore constitutional government to the USA, in the interim we are living without those basic rights.  And in this new place you can’t live a good life by playing by the rules.  Sure, you can manage to make a living if you kowtow to the new gods of wokeness but you’ll have to leave your self-respect behind.  You are going to have to think long and hard and decide what you can do to carve out a space that includes being a man.

I’ve written a number of posts highlighting what sort of things we need to do to hold onto the important things in life, the normal things that are threatened by every action of the Left.  We need to protect our children and provide education and the truth about their world to give them a chance to thrive.  We need to provide our own avenues for free association with other people who think the way we do.  All these things are part of the new way of life.

But none of that can start until you finally admit to yourself that the old world, the America that was, isn’t coming back any time soon.  Until you admit that you will still cling to the idea that your first and second amendment rights will be honored and you have the freedom and the right to speak your mind and that Americans will rally to defend their freedoms and the government will listen.  After what the Supreme Court did this summer it’s hard to believe there’s anyone left who thinks the Constitution is still the law of the land.  Except for President Trump and a few loyalists, the entire federal government and half the states are run by globalists who have no interest in honoring the Constitution.  So, wake up and see things as they really are.

And that brings me to the title of this essay.  The loss of the finest republic that ever existed is something worth mourning.  A horrible crime was committed.  And it happened because the elites that have always run this country wanted it to happen.  And so, when I say there’s no time to mourn what I mean is you’ll have to mourn on the run.  Because there’s no time to sit there and feel sorry for yourself.  Maybe you wanted to retire and enjoy your old age.  But now you have to help your kids and grandkids survive the insanity that we see on every side.  COVID lockdowns and roving bands of looters and propaganda on every channel and every webpage is surely not what we had.  We were given better and we owe these young people help in any way we can to survive and thrive in this bizarre landscape we find ourselves in.  And we can do it too.  In a way we’ll be modern day pilgrims searching for freedom inside the belly of the beast.  We don’t have new continent to flee to but this one is pretty big and surely, we can carve out spaces for ourselves and our families to enjoy the things that we used to take for granted when it was the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The 2020 General Election Debates

If the world we live in today resembled the way it was even a year or two ago I would have had a series of humor posts trying to create my satirical/farcical take on what a Trump/Biden or Pence/Harris debate would be.  But it’s no longer possible to write satire or even farce.  No sooner would I commit to paper some absurd outrage by Biden or Harris than one of them would blow it away with something much crazier.  It is impossible to parody these people.  They are living cartoons, or in Biden’s case, almost living.  If I had him walk on stage and start playing with his ear wax, he’d do me one better and start picking his nose.  If I had Harris breaking into tears and accusing the moderator of verbal assault, she’d one up me by grabbing a gun from her secret service agent and start blasting away at him.  After all, if the mayors of all large cities now routinely condone looting, arson and even murder by certain constituencies then a VP candidate going postal on a debate stage would be hardly a misdemeanor and unworthy of even a passing report in the daily papers and tv news.  So instead of parody let’s just think about what these debates will be.

With respect to the presidential debates, the Trump camp is primarily concerned about the venue and the moderators.  And with good reason.  The history of US presidential debates is an unbroken succession of far-left moderators serving up softball puff questions to the Democrat candidate and asking the Republican candidate whether he is still beating his wife.  Sensibly, President Trump has announced that he will require some representation on the moderator panel by conservative journalists in every debate.  But what if they refuse?  If the Trump camp stands their ground on this point I wouldn’t be surprised if Biden used this as an excuse to skip the debates altogether.  And this is actually a pretty reasonable position for them.  Anyone who has listened to some of Biden’s most recent interviews is acutely aware that Sleepy Joe has lost more than just a little bit off of his fastball.  In fact, he can’t even manage a one bouncer to the plate.  It’s more like a slow dribbler.  I’m thinking that even if President Trump agrees to all the conditions the Democrats demand, that Joe might still opt out.  Because even if the questions were slanted in the extreme, President Trump would still get his message across and Biden would at best, stutter out almost incomprehensible non-sequiturs and at worst drool on himself.  It will be fascinating to see how that negotiation proceeds.

With respect to a Pence/Harris debate, this would be an entirely different situation.  Mike Pence is not a pugnacious orator like the President.  He is a polite soft-spoken gentleman who would not attack a woman in a debate.  He will be at a distinct disadvantage against the histrionic and emotional Harris.  I can remember during her debate performances in the primaries, she would work herself up into an almost hysterical state that looked like she was about to burst into tears.  I could see this unnerving Pence if he were not studied in deflecting this tactic.  Honestly, I think it is critical that the White House team have Pence work through a number of drills to be familiar with the techniques needed to defuse Harris’s emotional style.

Another thing that I think will be key for both sets of debates is to use the support that both Biden and Harris have given to the BLM movement as weapons against them.  And this should begin way before the debates in commercials that include both audio and video of the candidates siding with the rioters against the police.  This is the strongest argument in favor of President Trump and against the Democrats.  It should be used as a club wherever and whenever possible.  The impact in the battleground states like Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Pennsylvania will be enormous.  And it is just possible it will have an impact in some blue states.  It has long been assumed that Oregon and Washington are completely out of reach for Republicans forever.  But after what has been going on in Seattle and Portland I wonder if that is still true.  Putting resources into testing the waters there might be money well spent.  And there is definitely a case to be made for Colorado and New Mexico.

Much is still unclear as to how the debates will play out this election season but as in 2016 the debates are a definite strong suit for President Trump and seeing him stacked up against the remnants of Joe Biden would be a wonderful opportunity to show America just how unprepared Biden is at this point to perform the most critical job on earth.

In 1984, George Orwell’s overly optimistic vision of what the future totalitarian progressive state would be, he calls the government agency in charge of propaganda, the Ministry of Truth and the Ministry of Love was the agency whose job it was to terrorize and punish the citizens into believing that truth.  In the real world, where things are much worse, instead of just the government, each corporation has now combined those functions into the Human Resources department.  They provide you with the loving truth and you had better pay attention when they do.

Last week on one of my posts someone commented his reply to his employer’s corporate “conversation” about anti-black racism in America. To say he gave them the straight dope would be an understatement.  He gave them both barrels.  And he did this without anonymity.  That’s amazingly brave.  Recently Cisco had a similar townhall meeting to air opinions about the same topic and when some employees said things like “All Lives Matter Not Just Black Lives Matter” they were promptly fired.  LinkedIn had a similar meeting but allowed anonymity and after they received similar answers, they promised to never allow anonymous replies again.  Here’s MSN’s article describing these two events.  Being Microsoft, the article takes the view that the employees got what they deserved.

Now normally I prefer not to quote people I do not respect but for once I think I’ll use Barack Obama’s favorite phrase.  Let’s look at this as a “teachable moment.”

What do we see here?  American corporations pretending to encourage open discussion of a divisive position on race relations that the company has taken and when the employees provide nuanced reasonable opinions that oppose the company’s position, they are declared racists and fired.

What should we learn from this?  First of all, if an American company says they want your opinion, really what they are telling you is what your opinion must be.  Namely, the same opinion as theirs.  Period.  In fact, what they’re expecting you to do is virtue signal just how much more you believe in something than even the company does.  If the company says it’s going to donate a half percent of profits to BLM you should declare that you’re going to donate a full percent or even more of your paycheck to BLM.  If you want to keep working at the company the least you are allowed to do is just stay silent about your true opinion.  And depending on how “woke” the company is, even that may get you fired.

Secondly, corporate America has knuckled under either willingly or unwillingly to the progressive agenda, lock, stock and barrel.  Unless you happen to be a protected class, you are at best a second-class citizen and most likely someone they would rather see leave.

And finally, the way this should get fixed is by a Justice Department investigation that prosecutes one of these companies for civil rights violations at a monetary level that puts the fear of God in every board room in the country.  And the only way that happens is if the President, the DOJ and the Supreme Court are all on our side and want us to be free citizens again.  Whether that is likely to happen sooner or later is hard to say.

But I had a funny idea, call it a thought experiment.  Since the BLM/Antifa model of direct action is apparently perfectly acceptable to the governments of the various states involved would it be equally okay if a mostly peaceful protest showed up in Mountain View, California and burned Google’s headquarters to the ground.  Or maybe CNN or The New York Times or even Harvard University.  Nothing violent or wrong just a mostly peaceful protest where people took direct action to let the country at large know that they were unhappy.  Now, my guess is that the executive office of every big corporation in America would have a very long meeting about that occurrence but I also guess there wouldn’t be any Human Resources townhall about it.  I’ll bet they won’t state their opinion at all.  But they may stop telling Americans what they have to believe in order to work at their company.  Just a thought.

Disentanglement from the Matrix – Part 1 – The Ten Commandments

Everyone has heard someone use the red pill/blue pill imagery from the movie, “The Matrix” as an analogy for conservatives either waking up or remaining asleep to the reality of the Uniparty.  I don’t remember anyone extending the metaphor to identifying what the “Matrix” is in this analogy.  I suppose it could be the Uniparty along with the Globalist coalition of corporate, academic and media entities that have aligned to thwart our every attempt to live our lives the way we had for generations.  But extending the metaphor wasn’t something that cried out for doing.

But let’s look at that analogy again.  In geology a matrix is a layer of material in which some second material is embedded.  As an example, you can have fossils of sea shells embedded in sandstone.  They are completely encased by the sandstone but at the same time have a totally different nature.  In our case we are the fossils embedded in the matrix of the Post American culture.  I think it’s clear that this culture isn’t going to vanish anytime soon.  We will be surrounded by it for the foreseeable future.  Luckily, we don’t have to make it disappear in order to get on with living happy productive lives.  And the matrix isn’t nearly as all-encompassing as everyone thinks.  What we do need to do is work out a set of rules and practices for allowing us to pass through the matrix as if it weren’t there.

The Ten Commandments (Well, more like Guidelines) for Living Free Inside the Matrix

  • Probably the simplest rule is to live where you have the fewest members of the Leftist persuasion in your environment. Stay as far away from any of them as is humanly possible.  Don’t live in or near any of the megalopolises.  They are the most concentrated form of the poison, the quintessence of the contagion that is the Leftist culture.  This one precept alone will improve your life immeasurably.
  • Don’t send your children to schools that teach them to despise you and your way of life. What this means is that you will have to evaluate the schools in the place you want to live and ascertain that some school exists that doesn’t fall into the category mentioned above.  As a corollary you’ll have to make sure you can afford to send your children there.  So maybe this is a public school in a normal area or a religious school or a private school or even home school.  But protect your kids from the Leftists.
  • Work for the company or in the industry that is least dominated by Leftists. This is a more difficult task and is sure to involve compromises because almost all businesses are to one extent or another compromised by the presence in at least the human resources department and probably the executive suite, with people who are part of the Leftist collective.  Years of affirmative action legislation and Ivy League indoctrination have altered all of these companies such that social justice virtue signaling is a part of the daily routine.  As I said this is a difficult call.  If you want to work as a lawyer or a doctor or even to a certain extent as an engineer, architect or an accountant you will be sacrificing your right to say out loud what you really think about the leftist policies that your company espouses.  And if you hope to reach upper management you will have to burn incense to Caesar.  Maintaining your self-respect is the question here.  If you enjoy leading a double life while taking their coin then maybe you can make it work.  But that’s your call.  From a practical point of view having a trade that allows you to be an independent contractor or even a small business owner is probably your best bet for escaping the Leftist business world.
  • Before deciding where to live make a point of knowing who runs your town government, your school board, your police department, your county government, your county sheriff, your state representative, your state senator, your district attorney and your governor. If it turns out that most of these people are Leftists then maybe you are looking at living in the wrong place.
  • Become politically active in your local area. If you have the time and the talent run for local office and make things better.
  • If you’re a man find a good woman and marry her and support her so she can make a home and raise a family. If you’re a woman find a good man and marry him and make him support you while you raise a bunch of nice kids.  That’s the hardest and easiest job in the world.  It’s the easiest because it’s as natural as breathing.  It’s the hardest because the system that’s been built up over the last hundred years has stacked the deck against the normal one-income family.  Once again compromises will be needed unless you have supportive parents who can provide boosts as needed to get over the humps like buying a house and surviving economic downturns.
  • Tell your kids the truth about the world and the lies that have been built up by the Left. Tell them the truth about what they’ll have to do to thrive in the world they find themselves in.  Support them in getting started in the world.  They are your greatest possessions.
  • Locate other families who believe the things you believe in and spend your time in their company. Think of family activities that you can do on a regular basis.  Minor league ball games, bowling, movies, laser tag, paint ball, camping trips, bible study, museum trips, performances of Shakespeare (normal ones), rock climbing, tennis, whatever.  Just as long as it’s wholesome and you can do it as a family.  Form a community of people that support each other and believe in the same things.
  • Form a men’s club. The wives can have their own club where they play cards or talk about books, recipes, children’s problems or make fun of their husbands.  But the men need a club just for them where they can be men.  They can go somewhere and shoot guns and play poker and complain about their wives and their kids and everything that’s wrong with the world including the Leftists that we hate so much.
  • Take care of your own. That means till the day you die.  Kids, grandkids especially are your primary responsibilities.  You have to pass on to them the same help you hopefully received when you were young.  But parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and any other relatives that need your help are family too.  And believe me I know that there are exceptions that are just impossible.  I’ve met some of them, the ones that will steal the money out of your wallet to get a fix.  But most people are lucky enough not to have those exceptions in their family tree.  So, family first.

Well, that’s a start.  Next time I’ll work on one point in more depth but I like to outline things first.  I write this stuff out to help me arrange things in my own head because heaven knows I’ve broken most of these commandments along the way.  But since I’ve taken the red pill, I’ve done a lot better.  The biggest goal is escaping New England but that is going to take the equivalent of Moses leading the Israelites across the desert to Canaan.  I’m going to have to get the grandchildren to come with me to pry Camera Girl away from here.  But greater miracles have happened so I have hope.

06AUG2020 – I have very limited wifi access for the next day or two due to the storm damage in New England.  I will answer comments in a slower than usual manner.  Sorry.
