As a long time competitive rifle shooter, I’m pretty sure that a Russian AK is close to the last rifle I would pick for an important multi-hundred yard shot. In my experience, an AK is a 5-7 MOA rifle in controlled conditions with a good shooter. One MOA is roughly 1” at 100 yards, so call it 15” to 35” at the 300-500 yard range the news reported. Yes, Trump has been very fortunate so far that his would be assassins are as amateurish as his secret service detail. Will he be as lucky next time? We now live in a country whose politics and government are now sub-banana republic. We aspire to be as organized as Belize.
As a former sniper, among other things, I wholeheartedly agree. The pics I’ve see looked like a SKS, a poor cousin to the AK. You probably could not get even 7 moa with a new one, and most are Chinese or old Warsaw Pact surplus. Those are “spray and pray” weapons for ignorant peasant armies, much like the Soviet Peppisha. In fact I doubt the SKS is very much more accurate than the PPSh41.
If he wins the election, which will be hard as the left is now unashamedly corrupt and the owner of the major polling machinecsystem is on the lefts side, they will assuredly try even harder between the election and the inauguration. The left’s rhetoric is even more vile after the 2d attempt. Yet, if Harris is taken out by a supposedly deranged MAGA supporter (actually a leftist plant), the left would use it as an excuse to nullify a Trump victory, and then the 2d Civil War begins.
