Is there a particular aspect of the image that elicits that response?
Interesting. I presume that is at a very high f-stop setting given the depth of field? Why not the use of a macro lens with the lower f-stop available that would have yielded a blurring (Bokeh?) effect (perhaps too much light for a low f-stop?). The sharpness is wonderful, no matter what else that macro lens is a very nice piece of glass.
It was at f/9 and 160th of a second. I use that shutter speed when I don’t want to worry about hand held sharpness for non-moving subjects. Yes the aperture was selected by the camera for that shutter speed. I shot that composition because in the spring those clumps of grass in the swamp have an odd appearance that I find interesting. They remind me of a village of grass huts .
