An excellent piece from Kimball, one of my favorite writers. I agree completely (and recently wrote a piece in that vein, at https://theportlypolitico.wordpress.com/2018/12/21/patriots-would-pitch-in-for-the-wall/). Here’s hoping President Trump sticks to his guns on this one. Senator Schumer and the Democrats have way more to lose from a shutdown–but America has even more to lose without substantial border security, and that includes the Wall.
I’m very interested to see who blinks and what will be the outcome.
