I just read this article from City Journal that says Starbuck’s is closing a bunch of urban locations because the increases in violence and theft are just too much for them to endure. Now this is the same company that has championed “defund the police” and every other progressive platitude that came down the pike. Of course, Starbucks is the icing on the cake. The real issue is the closing of drug stores in places like Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis and New York. The Soros district attorneys have decriminalized shop lifting and so these stores have been emptied out so many times they are just clearing out. And the poorest people who depend on these stores for everything from toilet paper to medicine are out of luck.
But hey, just keep on voting for those Democrats. That’s working really well for you. Bring it on, bring it on, bring it on.
Everyone else, stay away from the cities. They’ll be death traps for a generation.
I am eagerly awaiting the breathless newscasts about “Food deserts” and “Drug deserts” now that these stores are closing. They will blame the “Evil Greedy Corporations” for leaving these areas and completely ignore the BLM riots.
Oh yeah. The reporters will demand action to force CVS to reopen these inner city locations. But meanwhile none of these reporters who have children still live in the cities. They’re in gated communities in the suburbs with round the clock security.
