The Critical Drinker is a movie reviewer who provides a very entertaining product. He’s a younger guy but he’s actually quite astute. I like the movie “Falling Down” and I like this review for the insights he brings to it from his point of view as a foreigner (Scot).
I think I’ll rewatch it and review it myself.
*excellent* review, entertaining and deeply truthful.
I’m similar in a lot or respects, someone who tried to do what was right, got a degree and tried hard to do the right thing. I did okay, I’m retired and fairly comfortable was never screwed to this extent but I’ve always had the feeling but I’ve always had the feeling that I’ve been chasing a lie.
But, in the end, isn’t the chance to raise a family in the absence of physical want or threat as much as any human has ever aspired to?
I agree. Even though it’s an extreme case the story rings true in a lot of ways. I also feel like there’s a lot of “there but for the grace of God go I” sort of vibe. The fact that it’s Los Angeles where it takes place makes it worse. Even then it was barely still America.
Awesome movie, dude. I wrote a blog post about it some years ago based on a blog post you wrote.

Thanks for sharing this video, my friend. I watched it ten months ago, but I loved watching it again.
Hey Tyler. It’s funny how prophetic that movie looks today. I read that you’re romantic life has progressed. Congratulations. When you find a good woman hold onto her. Hope life is treating you well.
It’s a very prophetic flick.
Yes! I’m proposing to Dr. Girlfriend this Saturday.
That’s fantastic! All the best for you and your bride to be. That’s real life.
I’m excited, dude. It took many years in the wilderness to get here.
It is exciting. Putting together a life is the biggest endeavor a man can attempt. It’s a lot of work. But it’s worth it. In fact nothing else comes close.
That is what I have heard, but, man, she is worth the work! She’s my best friend, and I am so thankful for her.
More details to come.
