Thanks for sharing my essay. It was striking to re-watch a film and pick up on things I missed as a teen. The multi-layered themes really stood out in the film with aged eyes (and mind).
I was 36 when I saw that movie. I saw it as the story of one man. I didn’t understand then that what I was watching was an expose on corporate America’s policy for all of us. We would be used and abandoned as circumstance allowed. Good movie. Ahead of its time.
