I was working on the outline for my book and I need to add about 50,000 words to the present length.  Luckily, I have a “women and children in danger” scenario that hasn’t even been started yet so there’s 25,000 words right there.  But the other thing I thought of has to do with the wrap up of the story.  Our heroes have survived a direct nuclear attack by the crazed, cowardly POTUS and have retaliated by physically undermining the headquarters of all the centers of power in Washington (White House, Capitol, Pentagon and all the HQ buildings of the security agencies including their data storage infrastructure nationwide). Basically, everyone in those building fall hundreds of feet to their death underground.  In addition, the good guys manage to tunnel under and hijack a bunch of ICBMs out of their silos thus preventing potential future retaliation.

So, the wrap-up has to be a conference between our heroes (or their representatives) with the federal and state leaders about a modus vivendi that will prevent any more bloodshed and allow for more permanent arrangements to be negotiated.  And the demand that the negotiators would make would be for all the rights that the Bill of Rights guaranteed them be restored without question or exception forever.  Now that could easily chew up 30,000 words.

While I was thinking about that, it got me thinking about reality.  Like, what would be the best outcome of Trump decapitating the Deep State and neutering all of the agencies that make our lives miserable?  Obviously, it would be for him to invite the Supreme Court to rule against all of the affirmative action and other unconstitutional mandates that strip away our rights and then use the Supreme Court’s decision to shut down all of the agencies and departments that spend all their time making these regulations.

Can you imagine if all the federal employees who monitor and threaten corporations to hire more girl bosses suddenly had no permission to do such things?  And then extend that to all of the other protected classes.  Imagine if a company could just hire who they wanted to based on nothing more than the fact that they considered someone the best choice?  Why that would be revolutionary.  And imagine if all the corporations could close down their HR departments and allow managers to hire their employees themselves?  Think of all the unemployed blue-haired cat ladies!  Think of the end of HR sponsored struggle sessions around gay pride week and rainbow flag decorations.  No more new acronyms like LGBTQIA and BiPOC and DEI and no more seminars on toxic masculinity, white privilege and hate speech.  And no more stupid slogans like “diversity is our strength.”  From now on everyone doing their damn jobs is our strength.

And after thinking about that I was sitting there with this stupid smile on my face for like five minutes.  And, of course, I knew it was just a ridiculous pipe dream.  But what a beautiful dream it was.  And really, it was completely within the bounds of what the Supreme Court could do.  And it was completely within the authority of what the President could do to respond to just such a Supreme Court decision.

It was completely logical and also completely impossible.  But it was the most beautiful dream I’ve had in a while.  It reminded me of a dream I had a few months ago where I imagined Donald Trump winning the 2024 election with a mandate and a congressional majority behind him.  It was dream like that.

Rights are an invention. Humans have no natural rights. We have what we can defend. No more. They are priviliges we have concocted for our society.

What good did human “rights” do for those murdered, raped and tortured by Hamas? Those who elected to jump to their deaths on 9/11 rather than waiting for the flames to take them? The citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Of Dresden? Auschwitcz and Buchenwald? A right is an inalienable thing. Strangers, mother nature, other groups and even your own government can and will violate your “righrs” at a whim. That is why enshrining the “right” of the People to keep and bear arms was so genius. An armed populace does not docilely board rail cars for concentration camps. But unless militantly guarded, that “right” is also doomed. Many Democrats are all for repealing the 2d Amendment.

If you do not jealously guard your “rights” and defend them with zeal and tenacity you will surely lose them. Life? Liberty? Both can be rescinded on a whim by humans, bears or earthquakes. Pursuit of happiness? That is a state of mind. Toss me in a dungeon or sit me upon Persian pillows with servants to attend my every need. I cannot be stopped from pursuing happiness, although there is no guarantee I will find it.

Hi Arthur,

I agree that these ideas of rights are ours in the West, really the Anglo-Saxon West. They are the product of a particular time and place and most of us in the West no longer understand them much less the invaders. I also agree that there is such a thing as reality and it is important to discuss what that reality is. Our worldviews aren’t really that far apart.

Zman is big on western tradition which is great but he certainly values some tradition above other tradition (I know that’s not a surprise). Zman’s post disturbed me enough that I bookmarked it (see Survival of Rights). I think this quote lays it out well:

The thing they will not find among the decaying buildings, rusting vehicles and collapsed bridges will be piles of human rights. They will not open a door of some oddly preserved building and find a bunch of skeletons who had found shelter along with their sacred human rights. In fact, they will probably find no trace of human rights or any discussion of the concept. Given that most of our knowledge is now digital, these sorts of things will be impossible to detect.

 

 

 

 

 

The main reason for this is human rights do not exist. They are a thing that humans invented late in the history of mankind. People say that human rights are real and point to various authorities to support the claim, but rights are not real things. They exist only as a figment of our imagination, like the concept of lust. No other species has this concept so it is possible the aliens will not understand it either. It will be as alien to them as our entirely made up concept of human rights.

Without individual rights liberty does not exist. Personal liberty is my tradition and I will do everything in my power to keep it.

In Bad Faith – When the Chumps Catch On

In business and law there is a term “in good faith.”  It’s a translation from the Latin bona fide.  Basically, it means that the desire to defraud is not present.  One specific application of the concept has to do with a buyer who receives property from a seller who does not have a clear title to that property.  The established precedent in all fifty states is that if a good faith buyer has purchased property that is afterward shown not to have been owned by the seller then the buyer keeps the property and the seller is legally responsible to the real owner for the illegal sale.

Maybe you see where I’m going with this.  When our ancestors came to this country, we were sold a bill of goods.  In fact, we were sold the Bill of Rights.  And in exchange for these we fought in their wars and paid their taxes and helped build their mighty nation.  But now we find out that those things weren’t for us.  Freedom is only for the rich and well connected.  The rest of us can have our speech restricted and our property is dependent on the vagaries of what the government decides it wants from us.  If you want to leave the state because the taxes are outrageously high then that government will order that you surrender a huge chunk of the sale price as a penalty for trying to leave.  And the most fundamental right for Americans, freedom of religion, is the most endangered.  A judge will tell you that what you believe is bigoted hate.  And we’re told that these changes in our rights are happening because the original Constitution was illegal.  It shouldn’t have allowed us to say what we want to and think what we want to or prosper by our hard work.  Those things are evil and racist and homophobic and misogynistic and transphobic and xenophobic and blah, blah, blah.  So just forget all that freedom stuff and start getting with the program.

But guess what?  We bought into the program in good faith.  Just because the elites have decided that they couldn’t sell us what we bought doesn’t mean we have to give it back.  In fact, we’re the good faith owners of the American Dream.  Now from a practical point of view we have a problem because the elites have promised the contents of our dream to the next bunch of chumps that are coming along.  Well, the way the law works we don’t have to give it back.  And guess what?  The ones who sold us the property are the ones who are liable for the other claims.  So, if these fine, rich, ethically scrupulous, leaders of the community, the ruling elite of the greatest country on earth, want to give all these new illegal aliens all the comforts of home then they should hand over their land and money and privileges.

But of course, that’s not how they look at it.  Chumps don’t get any consideration.  They’re just a means to an end.  They’re a revolving door of indentured servants to be manipulated and tossed aside as circumstances allow.  They will always be able to justify to anyone listening including themselves why they are in the right and we deserve whatever abuse they think up.

The truth is if we want what we paid for we’ll have to fight to get it.  That’s really how these things work.  And if we’re not willing to do that then we had better leave or get used to being slaves.  Those are the only three paths.  Pick one.

A Champion of the Common Man for what Ails the American Republic

Last Tuesday I wrote a post about awakened Christians and what practical steps they could take to finally fight back.  The inimitable War Pig commented back, “In other words, they need a modern-day Martin Luther.”  And that really got me thinking.  The Right has been wandering in the desert for thirty years and only saw any success when Donald Trump appeared.  Are we just waiting for the right man to come along to start a modern-day cultural reformation?

America has known several religious revivals in her history but it seems this will have to be something different.  It’s not a religious revival it’s more like a societal purge.  Instead of just Martin Luther we need another Andrew Jackson thrown in for good measure.  What is needed is a Normal Man’s Revolt.  The societal authorities have led us down a rabbit hole and we’ve come out in Wonderland.  A Wonderland where everything is backward, upside down and inside out.

But we know the things that are wrong and we can push back on those things.  We want our freedom back again.  Our positive and negative freedoms both.  We don’t want the government telling us who we must and mustn’t hire, promote, fire, play golf with or bake cakes for.  What we can or can’t say.  We don’t want them telling us how to raise our kids or where they have to go to school.  We don’t want them spying on us.  We don’t want them giving away our money to foreigners or people who don’t want to work.  We don’t want the government to reward companies for exporting jobs to China.

And we certainly don’t want them telling us that a man in a dress is a woman.  Or that an eighty-pound four-foot eleven-inch woman is a Navy Seal.  And we don’t want them to force our churches to recognize practices that contradict the teachings of their faith.  We need a modern-day Moses to lead us back to the Promised Land and by promised land I mean sanity.

We need someone to step forward and have the courage to speak the truth.  It’s time to tell the social justice scolds in the Media, the tech companies, the schools and the corporate HR departments that we don’t believe what they’re saying and we aren’t going to play by their rules anymore.  It’s going to take a preacher.  He’s going to have to preach the gospel of liberation.  Liberation from all these petty tyrants who collectively have left us in chains.  He’s got to stir the people up and give them hope and unite them.  President Trump wants to be that man.  I hope he succeeds.  Because the need for such a hero is desperate.  Someone must fill it or we will become a nation of serfs.

The surprising thing is that once the truth comes out it will be like a landslide.  For decades people have been intimidated into silence, afraid of losing their jobs, their families, their freedom.  But if someone just once speaks the truth from a big stage with a big megaphone the dam will burst and there will be a tidal wave of truth.  Just like when Donald Trump was brave enough to say that illegal immigration wasn’t virtuous but a crime everybody was relieved to see that they weren’t alone.  People will accept the Big Lie because they know the powerful are protecting it.  But if once a brave voice shouts from the rooftops that the emperor has no clothes then everyone will laugh and put an end to the charade.

We need a champion and a leader and we need him now.  Support President Trump in every way you can.  He is our best hope to restore sanity to this nation.

 

Prioritizing the Problems – The Bill of Rights – Part 2

In my first post on this subject I addressed the necessity of protecting traditional Christians from being harassed by the LGBTQ mafia.  After taking care of that problem, the next freedom of speech issue that needs to be handled is the gatekeeping that the social media companies have been doing that denies access to people of whose politics the gatekeepers do not approve.  Either single-handedly or by forming a cartel, companies such as Youtube, Twitter and Facebook have the ability to effectively shut out of the electronic town square anyone that they disapprove of.  In the modern age these social media sites are de facto, the only means of free speech in the digital world.  And since they act as essentially monopolies they must be treated as such by the federal government.

Currently, Twitter will allow (exclusively) left leaning users to contact the left-leaning “Trust and Safety” Commissariat, to fink on someone they dislike and this will get the wheels in motion to eliminate this wrong thinker.  The process may take one or several steps but the eventual outcome will be the removal of the offender from the Twitterverse.  Facebook and Youtube have similar set-ups with equally Orwellian titles that allow the Left to exclude the Right from these social media sites.  Since these sites benefit from the virtual monopolies that they have they must be regulated as such by the government to prevent them from discriminating against those they dislike.

On the commerce side there are money transfer services like PayPal and Stripe that also have formed cartel like arrangements that conspire to demonetize anyone whose politics they disapprove of.  Added to this are the crowdfunding companies that have recently begun doing the same.  And these sites are presently the critical locations for doing business on the web.  Without them companies and individuals are shut out of e-commerce almost completely.  The Left knows this and is using it as a bludgeon to force conformity by anyone who wants to do business on-line.

The good news is that laws already exist to combat this kind of market place manipulation.  The Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department are specifically empowered to monitor and enforce anti-trust and unfair trade practices laws.  Currently the Justice Department is in the hands of the enemy and is probably incapable of performing its duty with respect to protecting the rights of non-leftist citizens.  However, after the mid-terms it may well be that President Trump will be firing the Attorney General, his Deputy and every other swamp creature currently inhabiting it.  If that does occur I hope one of the earlier actions of this cleansed department is investigating and punishing these various on-line perpetrators of malfeasance and leveling the playing field in the on-line environment.

It’s entirely possible that none of these issues would rise to the level of a Supreme Court case.  But if it does we have the correct court to enforce these cases.  With these cases covered I believe we will have provided the people on the right with the on-line environment they need to thrive.  Otherwise these strong-arm tactics by the left will increasingly hamper and weaken us.

Prioritizing the Problems – The Bill of Rights – Part 1

So many aspects of life under the leftist regime are unpleasant that sometimes it’s difficult to decide what should be fixed first.  I think this is part of what leads to the apocalyptic mindset when the Right thinks of how all this will have to be resolved.  Back in September the ZMan had a podcast that looked at the current state of the Bill of Rights in America.  http://thezman.com/wordpress/?p=14969

He makes a pretty compelling case that even though theoretically we still have freedoms of speech and religion and the right to bear arms all of these have been hamstrung through the efforts of courts, state governments, bureaucrats and even corporations that want to tell you how to live.

And that has been in the back of my mind ever since.  And now that Brett Kavanaugh has been added to the Supreme Court I think it’s clear what the first priority should be.  It’s time to restore the Bill of Rights.  It’s time to take a stand against the Courts and States that have criminalized traditional beliefs and practices.  And the most egregious example is the gay marriage bamboozle.  It’s time for the Supreme Court to tell the Blue States that normal people don’t have to pretend that gay marriage is something they need to celebrate.  We can leave the question of the constitutionality of protecting the right to gay marriage for another day but it’s obvious to any reasonable man that eschewing any involvement with it is squarely under the jurisdiction of the Freedom of Religion aspect of the First Amendment.  Not being a lawyer, I’m not exactly sure what the best way to provide blanket protection for this.  I would guess that a decision from the Supreme Court recognizing the tenets of traditional marriage as protected under the First Amendment should do it.  Then if any of the states disobey the ruling the President can send the National Guard in and follow up with some kind of federal oversight to ensure that it sticks.

In addition to the cake bakers and photographers this will also aid the religious organizations, schools and social agencies.  For instance, Catholic Adoption agencies have been put out of business because states like Massachusetts prosecuted them for refusing adoption to homosexuals.  Now, it may already be too late for some organizations like the Boy Scouts.  They seem to have folded. But new organizations can step forward to fill the gap.  So, these protections will benefit many parts of traditional life.  And in the aggregate, they will make life more tolerable for traditional individuals in America.  In fact, what they will allow is the ability for normal people to separate from the progressives in the aspects of life that are most important to people, namely their most strongly held beliefs.

So, this is the first and most critically needed change that the Right needs enacted.  There are plenty of other areas where push back against the progressives is needed and I will address these subsequently but without a doubt, this one is first.
