Another Update on the Hilarious NYC Migrant Bus Service

As Texas Governor Abbott continues to bus illegal aliens to NYC and DC the squealing from NYC government officials gets louder.

My favorite quotes:

“He’s weaponizing asylum seekers,” Manuel Castro, commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs said. “It is shameful, and it is our moral obligation to condemn the use of human beings for political purposes.”

New York officials said this week that the city is using 14 hotels to provide housing to the new arrivals.

Castro was not the only official in Mayor Eric Adams’s administration to blast Abbott. City Comptroller Brad Lander said Abbott’s action are “inhumane” and “disgusting.”

As the saying goes, “You know you’re over the target when you start taking flack.  I only wish he’d start sending some to Portland, Oregon and San Francisco.

This is the gift that keeps on giving.  It’s not only useful and smart, it’s hilarious.  Hopefully a goodly percentage of the refugees are violent offenders and weirdos of various descriptions.  New York needs the most exciting new residents to keep things interesting.

Bravo, governor Abbott, bravo.

Sanctuary Cities Full Up

It turns out NYC and Washington DC would like a few less illegal aliens looking for sanctuary in their sanctuary cities.  When Joe Biden unleashed the endless caravan of the unwashed on the US borders some of the governors (Abbott in Texas and DeSantis in Florida) decided it would be poetic justice to pay for bus tickets to send these “undocumented Americans” to those two blue cities.

Well, lo and behold, Mayor Adams of New York and Mayor Bowser of DC have discovered that illegal aliens cost money to keep alive.  In fact, Bowser is upset that the illegals were “tricked” into getting on the buses.  Now she wants Creepy Uncle Joe to step in and pick up the tab.

Hey, good for DeSantis and Abbott.  While they’re at it they might as well send them to the other sanctuary cities too.  San Francisco can always use more homeless people crapping on its streets.  And don’t forget Portland, Oregon.  It’s obvious that Antifa needs help finishing off Portland.  Ten or twenty thousand starving immigrants would really seal the deal.

So, once again, Biden has a policy that’s so bloody awful that even his own partisans are getting fragged by the fallout.  I like this current strategy so much I’m looking for ways to expand its impact.  To really hammer the point home the red states should craft policies that encourage illegal aliens and even just people on welfare to move to the blue cities.  The free bus ticket is good but really there should be a whole agency of government in these states to identify and expedite the migration of these people to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Providence, Newark, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, Baltimore and the rest of the sanctuary cities.  They should hire lawyers to help these people get housing, health care, food stamps and all the other benefits you would expect from a first-rate sanctuary city.  To do less would just reek of insincerity for a real sanctuary.

But it’s not enough.  I think these sanctuary cities should also become sanctuaries for those getting out of prison in the red states.  After all, with the Soros prosecutors now eliminating bail requirements and nullifying arrests for anything less serious than serial murder these recent alumni of red state prisons deserve to relocate to an area where they can ply their professions (drug kingpin, gang banger, thug) without the annoying interference of law enforcement and other components of the criminal justice system.

Looks like a win/win to me.  The red states get to off load unproductive and anti-social residents and the blue cities can virtue signal how much they care about the wretched refuse and how they can run big cities without police or sanity.  Seems about right.

Maybe all of this is a taste of things to come.  With the federal government refusing to provide services like border protection the states will have to become creative at protecting themselves from the predatory actions by Washington.  I could see states begin following the letter of the law on enforcing employment bans against illegal aliens.  Punishing employers who break these laws with extremely harsh penalties would fix the problem very quickly.  Pretty soon all the illegals would be where they belong, in the sanctuary states and the rest of the country could get back to normal life.

Poetic Social Justice

Recently Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida threatened to take all the illegal aliens that the feds let into Florida and bus them to Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.  This week Governor Greg Abbott of Texas took a page from the DeSantis playbook and started bussing his illegals to Washington D.C.

These are very good ideas.  But I think I have a better bus stop for these lucky illegals.  I think they should be shipped to that famous resort island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.  That’s right.  Let them share the sun and surf with the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton.  Also David Letterman, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, Larry David and a host of other hyper-woke lefties.  They need to share their island paradise with the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free and defecate on Larry David’s front porch.

And I don’t think I’m being spiteful.  These are the people who push open borders with every tweet and election rally.  They need to embrace the wonderful, smelly reality of flooding someone’s country with millions of desperate poor people.  In fact, they need to take the lead.  They must become the vanguard of overwhelmed American locales.  Watching Martha’s Vineyard becoming a northern latitude Haiti is right on so many levels.

I’m sure Massachusetts can legislate the construction of five or ten thousand Section Eight Housing units.  This would strike the correct balance between opulence and squalor.  There should probably be some kind of Critical Race Theory indoctrination center.  That way the children of the very rich and famous can discover how they are responsible for the poverty of their lice-infested neighbors.  And there can be mandatory struggle sessions.  Here these privileged youngsters can trade their money and possessions for some kind of atheist version of medieval indulgences.

I’d especially hope that the Obamas would open their hearts and their property to these prospective Americans.  And share their food, spare rooms and bathroom facilities during the summer season.  While they’re at it the wealthy denizens of the island can learn about the delightful and colorful sexual practices of these vibrant visitors.  Probably during the frequent home invasions that will be the talk of the summer season at this premiere vacation paradise.

You probably think I’m kidding.  I’m certainly not.  Disturbing the fabulously wealthy Left should be a focus of how politicians on the Right spend their time.  We could lavish a few tens of thousands of illegals each on Boston Massachusetts, Chappaqua and Sagaponack in New York, Beverly Hills, Montecito, Santa Monica and Los Altos in California and several other zip codes infested with the rich and woke.  I think if we were diligent enough it might start to sink into their heads that we’re onto their game of turning America into a banana republic while they live fat, dumb and happy in their segregated enclaves.

Think of the great publicity pictures that could be had by Project Veritas of poor destitute third world families being rounded up and removed from the Obama or Clinton oceanfront properties.  Poor little children evicted by Hillary or the Light Worker.  Very sad.  So, wake up red state governors.  Embrace creative destruction or political jiu jitsu or whatever you want to call it.  Make the Left own their positions and watch them sweat.  It’s going to be a long hot summer.

Arizona Law Requiring Proof of Citizenship to Vote Should Provide a Good Test of SCOTUS

This election season Dementia Joe and his evil minions will try to swamp the polls with illegal voters.  Arizona’s law attempting to prevent this abuse will be a test case to see if the “conservative” Supreme Court is worth the breath that’s been spent talking about it.  The law is sure to be challenged.  Either elections can be made to run fairly or we’re a banana republic.  Currently 2020 proved we’re a failed state but maybe, just maybe, there are still enough people left who want their freedom back to turn this thing around.  My proof that this can happen will be sixty new Republican seats in the House and ten more Republican senate seats.

I think that’s fair.

Hat Tip to the Conservative Treehouse – DeSantis Fighting Back Against Biden Immigrant Dumping

This guy DeSantis is really stepping up his game.  He’s going after the feds who are transporting illegals from the Mexican border and dumping them in Florida.  He’s going to criminalize what they are doing and confiscate the vehicles they are using.  And he’s suing the Feds over the dumping which is being called illegal human trafficking.  Here’s the Conservative Treehouse link.  I think DeSantis is serious about fighting back against the Feds.  In my estimation this is huge.  I wonder if he has found some allies even in the Courts to help him make this stick.

I hate to have too much hope but I have to say I’m starting to feel optimistic.  If he wins this fight he is starting to look a very important national figure.  If this works hopefully the other red states will copy this and use it to stem the tide of illegals.

The Supreme Court Gets Something Right. Reinstitute “Remain in Mexico” Policy

Hat tip tip to the Conservative Tree House for this headline.  I can’t believe SCOTUS did anything this good.  In the words of Vizzini, “Inconceivable!”

Well however it happened a small shot of very good news for us and another thumb in the eye for Dementia Joe.  This week just keeps getting better and better.  The latest approval poll on Joe has him under water 41% to 55%.  Pretty sweet.

Enough is Enough

If living through this nightmare does only one good thing, it’s this.  It will give President Trump a mandate to end globalism once and for all.  Once we’re finally released from our cells, we’re going to want him to take whatever steps he can to make sure this doesn’t happen again.  And that’s quite a laundry list of things.  First off, it’s time to close not only the borders but the airline routes too.  Apparently Chinese New Year is the occasion for sending millions of Chinese back and forth from there to here just chock full of whatever pathogens have shown up in the wild game markets of China.  That must stop.  If China refuses to adhere to modern food hygiene then they should be treated like a plague city and kept at arm’s length.  Instituting a quarantine for travelers from China and similar places at the border for say, two weeks would go a long way to preventing another horrific outbreak like the one we’re suffering under now.  And because there’s no way of telling at the Mexican border where anyone comes from, we’ve got to end all the illegal immigration.  Not just sorta/kinda, but for real.  Use the state of emergency to shut down the border and if a judge says no then declare martial law and do it anyway.  The people will approve it.  And while we’re at it, suspend legal immigration for the time being.  It doesn’t make sense to be bringing people into the country during a catastrophe.

The next thing is to get Congress to declare all sorts of industries critical to Homeland Security and use a carrot and a stick to bring them back on shore.  And make it a very heavy stick.  Having our pharmaceuticals manufactured in China turns out to be a bad idea.  And manufacturing everything else there hasn’t helped either.  The President should do himself and us a favor and repatriate pharmaceuticals, automobiles, electronics, chemicals, metals, building supplies and just about everything else.  As far as I can tell we’ll need the jobs badly when this is over and the tens of millions of unemployed people are going to want growth in the economy and plenty of it.  And one good way to jump start something like that is to rebuild all the infrastructure that has virtually rotted away over the last fifty years of neglect.  Infrastructure projects have often in the past been boondoggles but compared to tossing trillions away to keep people sitting in their homes I doubt you could do worse.

Some will be worried that shifting production here could cause a worldwide depression.  I find that unconvincing.  The East Asian economies have their own domestic demand that is quite mature at this point and not having ten percent growth won’t kill them.  As for the rest of the developing world, if it’s not corona virus from China, it’s dengue fever from Guatemala or Ebola from the Congo.  We don’t need any more lessons in epidemiology.  We can see that plagues don’t mix well with a modern western democracy.  It’s time to roll up the welcome mat and tell everyone out there to stay home and fix their own damn problems.  And if it’s not too much to ask how about stop eating bats for a start.  Try chicken, it tastes the same.

Bridging the Chasm Between the Dissident Right and the Civic Nationalists

A week or so ago I critiqued an on-line article about finding common ground with leftists who were upset about being attacked by their even crazier neighbors in the “woke” community.  In my analysis I rejected the value of accepting them as allies and as an alternative proposed a dialog with the Dissident Right.  I said:

“So, in answer to the title of Mr. Klavan’s article, yes conservatism can be conserved but not by accepting non-conservative ideas and the people who live by them.  Let the progressives, the liberals, the moral relativists, the feminists and the alphabet people battle with their even crazier “woke” brethren (or whatever gender bent category they prefer) on their own.  We have nothing in common with them and nothing to gain by engaging with them.  I would much prefer to engage with the fringe groups to the right of us and see if we can find some common ground with them.  Their ideas are more extreme than ours but they at least do not reject the values that we embrace.  In many cases I think they have let pessimism radicalize their thinking and pushed them to conclude that only radical solutions to our problems exist.  I think the last few years have shown that progress can be made if the right people get involved.  If actual conservatives have a part in running the country better outcomes are possible.”

Recently I have read several articles by the Dissident Right that seem to echo the idea that there is room for constructive engagement between the so-called “Civic Nationalists” and the so-called “Dissident Right” (wow, that a lot scare quotes!).  Of course, from their point of view this merely means they are interested in proselytizing us over to their cause.  And, fair to say, I’m interested in changing their minds about some of the darkest pessimism they have concerning America’s future.

To be perfectly candid, the biggest difference between realistic civic nationalists and the dissidents is their conclusions about racial identity.  They are convinced that a minority majority America cannot maintain the essential characteristics that the country had when 85% of the population was of European descent.  Now this is a very sensitive subject and even acknowledging that it could be an issue has been enough to get all kinds of people banished to the gulag of the de-platformed.  Racial and ethnic topics are taboo for all but the anti-white cheerleaders of the left and their only object is to vilify everyone from Christopher Columbus to Kate Smith for not having read the playbook of the 21st Century Witch Hunters.  But considerations of race and identity are important and should be able to be discussed rationally and constructively.

The descendants of the English who founded this country have a right to be proud of what their forefathers created.  The United States is one of the most remarkable human inventions that can be pointed to.  Along with the British, Roman and Athenian systems it evolved from, it has blossomed into a model that has impacted to a greater or lesser extent, the whole of the human world.  Without a doubt, there was something about the people and the circumstances that surrounded the founding of this country that should be revered by its descendants and anyone who chooses to live in it.

The charges of guilt against America for conquering the country from the Native Americans and for slavery before the Civil War are absurdly hypocritical.  War and slavery have been a part of every human culture including the Native Americans and Sub-Saharan Africans from the very beginning and to the extent that the United States and Britain have worked to eliminate slavery and embrace the idea of all humans being a family, they should be recognized as having made a quantum leap beyond the long depressing history of nations and empires murdering and enslaving each other to stay alive.

And this hypocrisy about America’s supposed guilt is, I believe, a big part of why the Dissident Right believes that a non-European majority in the Unites States will destroy the things that have made it unique.  All of the hooting and hollering about Jefferson and Washington being slave owners and whatever the latest atrocities the Antifa idiots commit compounds the sense of unfairness that people feel when they are confronted with the ongoing discrimination that affirmative action represents.  Anyone who has seen what corporate management has become knows that choosing a woman or a minority or an LGBTQ candidate is the only way to avoid being subject to the dreaded “diversity and inclusion” police.  Your judgement will be questioned and your “unconscious bias” will be referenced by your upper management and the advocacy groups that have sprung up like poison mushrooms in every school, college, corporation and non-profit organization.

So, I’m cognizant of the outrages being perpetrated on the legacy population of the United States by, mostly, their fellow European Americans ostensibly for the benefit of these various minorities but I disagree with the dissidents on the conclusion that this has to inescapably change the country into something unrecognizable to those who loved it.  And as a rationale I am reminded of the southern European immigrants of the 1890s and early 20th century.  These people were equally considered unacceptably alien and a threat to the American nation.  And indeed, when they flooded the country in their millions, they did create chaos and an explosion of crime.  But by their desire to emulate the prosperity of their neighbors they instilled in their children the desire to be Americans in every sense and they did become Americans and they probably loved this country as much (if not more) than those Mayflower descendants who currently bad-mouth the United States for all the supposed sins that their woke brethren enumerate.  This former wave of immigrants leads me to believe that we can absorb some reasonable amount of immigration.  Obviously unlimited and illegal immigration is a danger to our system and needs to be stopped in order to allow the already large number of legal immigrants to assimilate.

But the current climate of “blame America” is the real danger I see.  Whatever numbers of immigrants are deemed harmless to the country, they still must be inculcated with a sense of gratitude for their membership in it and toward the people and culture that built it.  And to accomplish that our government must not be put in the hands of America-haters like Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or any of the other Democrats who want to divide and conquer us.

As far as the dissidents’ opinions on HBD, I can’t confirm or deny whether there are such large differences between populations of humans as they claim.  But if they do exist, I still do not see the relevance.  There is plenty of variance in intelligence and other characteristics within populations and these ranges of variance act in hierarchical fashion to steer individuals to occupations and groupings that suit them more or less.  The important thing is that people feel that everyone is at least given the same chance to try to succeed.  A ditch digger who earns his money honestly doing the task he is qualified to perform is more honorable than the Ivy League legacy student who gets his spot in school and industry while more qualified candidates are rejected because their families didn’t vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.

My hope is that if honest reformers like Donald Trump can begin to roll back the harmful policies that the social justice programs of the 1960s and 1970s then maybe the dissidents will come around to our way of thinking and support reasonable reform of an admittedly dysfunctional system.  But for now, I think it’s reasonable to begin a dialog with the Dissident Right.  They were among the first who diagnosed the conscious malpractice of the Establishment Republicans and their clandestine collusion with the Left in marching this country over a cliff.  They are just as legitimate a part of the nation as some of the radical groups that the Left has welcomed into its camp.  Ostracizing them just to prove our purity is stupid and self-defeating.

So that’s what I think.  That was long because it is difficult to talk about these things without being very clear about what I mean.  But I thought it was worth saying.  Leave your opinions, if you’d like, in the comments.

Another Supreme Court Ruling Against Unlimited Immigration

This ruling confirms that the United States can deport aliens who have ended up on the public dole.  https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/27/politics/supreme-court-immigration-public-charge/index.html .  This law has been in effect since 1882 and in my opinion makes perfect sense.  If someone can’t make a living in this country and instead wants to live on our dime isn’t it necessary to send him home?  In my mind it means we can sweep the welfare roles and not only find the legal aliens but look for anyone who is not a citizen, in other words, illegal aliens.  This was a 5-4 ruling so John Roberts is at least on our side on immigration.

2019 – 2020 is Going to Be an Important Judicial Year in the Supreme Court

A number of important cases are on the docket at the Supreme court this fall.

This year the Supreme Court will have the chance to rule on:

  • The constitutionality of Louisiana’s Abortion Law mandating an abortionist have admitting privileges at a local hospital.
  • Whether New York City’s ban on transporting a licensed, locked and unloaded handgun to a home or shooting range outside city limits is consistent with the Second Amendment, the commerce clause and the constitutional right to travel.
  • Whether the temporary DACA program can be allowed to expire.
  • Whether Kansas is allowed to identify illegal aliens by their obvious documentation and act on this.
  • Whether homosexuality is a protected class under employment discrimination laws.
  • Whether transgender status is a protected class under the employment discrimination laws.

Putting aside for a moment the health status of Ruth Bader Ginsberg, we will have the chance to see whether John Roberts is an honest man or a stooge.  Something like the DACA program is a clear-cut case of a temporary law that has expired.  To extend it would be an obvious act of judicial trespass onto the prerogatives of the Executive and Legislative branches of government.  If Roberts uses his vote to legislate from the bench then we know he is a Deep State creature either voluntarily or due to some kind of blackmail.  Likewise, with the NYC gun transport ban this is a clear violation of the Second Amendment and upholding the ban would make Roberts’ status clear.

As for the homosexual and transgender cases, those will be even more transparent markers of where he stands.  Supposedly only Justice Kennedy was responsible for the outrage that was the gay marriage decision.  If somehow Roberts comes out in favor of either of these protections then it will be obvious that he was a plant all along.

If it turns out that Roberts is indeed a creature of the Left then it becomes even that much more urgent that President Trump appoint one or more conservative justices to the Supreme Court.

So, returning to the question of Ginsberg’s health I stated during her last cancer eruption that I would be shocked if she didn’t retire before April.  To be blunt, she is currently experiencing the results of metastatic cancer from one of her previous tumors.  Whether the cells are originally pancreas, colon or lung cancer they have obviously migrated out of the original site and are now showing up in new organs.  The question of whether these cells have already migrated to the liver is probably what will determine how long she has.  And also, to slow down the spread of the metastases, chemotherapy will be needed and this is a woman in her late eighties.  How is she supposed to support the side effects that include neurological damage and still sit on the Supreme Court and decide the legal fate of the nation?

Hopefully she will elect to spend her last few months with her loved ones as anyone would in that position.  At that point President Trump will appoint a reliable conservative justice and put an end to Roberts’ veto on conservative judicial decisions.  But while these are important legal battles, even more urgent is a Supreme Court decision to end all forms of affirmative action, whether sex or race based.  The glaring anti-constitutional nature of these programs has been long recognized by the court but has always been spared as being a necessary temporary measure to correct past inequities.  Any honest observer would admit that the cure is now worse than the disease and it’s time to save the patient from his treatment.  Whether this will come up for review next year or the year after, sooner than later the Supreme court will need to address this most egregious civil rights atrocity.
