Is It Possible the Flynn Persecution is Finally Over?

The Appeals Court ruled by a two to one vote to order U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan to stop torturing General Flynn and dismiss the case.  Of course I’m waiting for Sullivan to appeal to a higher court or just to defy the order.  We’ll have to wait to see if this is the end but it’s surely a step in the right direction.

This may be a good test for what kind of judicial and bureaucratic disobedience we’ll see in the future.  With the Supreme Court defying the Constitution at every turn and the Deep State in open revolt I won’t be surprised by any illegal actions taken by our enemies.  But it certainly will open a lot of eyes that have been sleepwalking for years.

FISA Court Veteran Opines on the IG ‘s Report

Francey Hakes, a former assistant U.S. attorney weighs in on the seriousness and the likelihood that abuse of power was involved in the FISA warrants used against the Trump campaign figures.  She has experience with the process having herself appeared before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court during her career, presenting applications for counterterrorism and counterespionage warrants on a special detail to the Department of Justice Office of Intelligence Policy and Review.

Take a look.

All I Want for Christmas 2019

Four years ago, I had to listen to every poll, every pundit telling me that Trump wouldn’t really run.  Then he would be finished after the comments he made in the first debate.  Then he would be out by Super Tuesday.  Then he couldn’t win the Nomination.  And finally, Hillary was so far ahead that it would be a landslide.

Then I had to stay up all election night to laugh at the hilarious Hillary backers screaming and crying and threatening to kill themselves.  Good times, good times.

This year I’m going to cut to the chase.  Even the New York Times and the Cook Report are coming as close as they can to admitting that all the Midwest states that gave Donald Trump the presidency last time are already set up to repeat the experience again. https://cookpolitical.com/index.php/analysis/national/national-politics/its-2016-all-over-again

I’m not going to worry about the President winning re-election, that’s a given.  What I want to focus on is whether the 2020 compilation video of screaming crying Democrat voters will be as good as the 2016 one.  It won’t be easy.  Rachel Maddow, Miley Cyrus, that crazy blue haired girl who swears she’s going to die unless someone fixes this.  Such memories.

I remember after the 2016 election I was quite busy at work for several weeks so I didn’t have a chance to absorb all the Democrat reactions that were captured on the internet.  But after Christmas I had some time off and I went back and looked at these reactions.  I confess I laughed so hard I think I bruised some ribs.  But it was well worth it.  I was euphoric for a month.

So now I want that feeling back.  But how do I get through a whole year before it can happen?  Well, my only hope is a string of Durham indictments during the holiday season.  A couple around Thanksgiving and then a bunch more between Christmas and New Year would be about right.

I know, I know I sound pretty mean.  But think about all the Trump associates like General Flynn, Paul Manafort and Roger Stone who were railroaded and terrorized by a witch-hunting mob of prosecutors who knew it was all made up.  What do you suppose would be poetic justice for that kind of behavior?  How about being frog-marched out of their homes at 3 am in front of the rolling video cameras of a tipped off journalist?  How about being cross-examined under oath and being forced to choose between a plea bargain that puts them behind bars for several years and facing a jury trial where they might end up with a twenty-year sentence?

If the shoe were suddenly on the other foot do you suppose it might give them pause and possibly convince them to turn state’s evidence and rat on Loretta Lynch or John Brennan or James Clapper?  It would be fun to find out.

So that’s what I’m asking Santa Claus for this year.  James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page and Bruce Ohr behind bars.  It doesn’t seem like too much.  After all I’ve been a good boy.

post script – Looks like my wish may e coming true and before Thanksgiving!

Fox News Speculates on Durham Criminal Probe

I’ve linked to a Fox News post that quotes an “insider” as saying that Durham would not be switching to a criminal investigation if he did not already have targets that will definitely be indicted on criminal charges.  And he said that there must already be some cooperating witnesses to ensure that these indictment will be certain.

The implication is that this “insider” is former or current Justice Department personnel who speaks from experience.  Sounds reasonable.  Read it and see what you think.  Apparently some of the coup have already been contacted that they will be interviewed.  Brennan was one of those.

Schiff and Nadler are outraged that the Justice Department isn’t restricted to only Republican targets.   This is my favorite quote:

“The Department of Justice under AG Barr has lost its independence and become a vehicle for President Trump’s political revenge,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said in a joint statement after learning Durham’s probe had become a criminal inquiry. “If the Department of Justice may be used as a tool of political retribution or to help the President with a political narrative for the next election, the rule of law will suffer new and irreparable damage.”

Oh, the irony.

Crushing the Coup is Not Optional

Last Monday I put up a post about Matt Taibbi’s article on the “permanent coup” going on inside the Deep State against President Trump.  On Friday I was listening to the Voice of Saruman (aka the ZMan) on his weekly podcast and at minute 35 he had a segment on The Permanent Coup!  It was his thoughts on Taibbi’s article.  The ZMan read a good chunk of the article aloud and then gave his take on it.  I think he said just about what I said agreeing with Taibbi.  Apparently great minds think alike.  Well, on some things anyway.  Basically, the premise is if the security state gets to decide who can be president then we’re already in a post-democratic country and it’s only a matter of time before the peasants grab their torches and pitchforks.  The ZMan took things a little farther than I did and said he thinks the chances of reforming the security agencies is very slim.  Come to think of it, I think Taibbi came to a similar conclusion and sort of predicted that a reaction in the form of a dictatorial move could be imminent.

So, listening to the podcast got me thinking about all this again.  I used to think that enduring the “Resistance” was just the price we had to pay to get on with the job of changing the Republican Party.  But now I see the Deep State as a parasite that has hijacked the government and subverted the lawful working of our democracy.  And the more I thought about it the more convinced I became that firing, prosecuting and imprisoning the conspirators was just as important as the other priorities of the Trump administration.  All the way back to J. Edgar Hoover the FBI has been blackmailing American presidents and calling the shots behind the scenes.  After the Patriot Act, they’ve been given surveillance weapons that in concert with Democrat allies in the Courts, Media and Congress can disrupt every action of an Administration that they don’t like.

And it gets worse.  The Democrats and probably some of the imbecilic Republicans are willing to go down this road.  They used the Mueller investigation to hound out of office and even imprison men that had done nothing wrong.  They are trying to delegitimize a presidency and criminalize the normal workings of the executive branch.  Really, the only way forward in this situation is to have Barr start firing the upper echelons of all the intelligence agencies until they run out of cabalists.  And not just the first couple of rungs.  He’ll have to decimate the upper management level in order to demoralize the middle management layer enough to start getting the cooperation needed.  What is needed is a whistleblower.  And the only way to get one is to remove the senior cabalists and thus remove the fear they inspire in their subordinates.

But will Barr do it?  He worked with all of these guys for years and probably belongs to the same clubs and social organizations they do.  He probably understands their point of view and the elitist attitude that informs it.  And he probably realizes how deadly serious are the consequences of crossing these people.

But here is where I differ from those on the dissident right.  I think it will happen.  I think that we have reached a point where our side knows it’s no longer possible to kowtow to the Deep State.  I think it will happen.  Maybe heads won’t actually roll but there will be criminal indictments and convictions and powerful men will go to prison.  I think it will happen and I know it has to if we are going to remain a free nation and not an Orwellian nightmare state.

Barr has been pursuing the origins of the Russiagate scam and it appears he has managed to unravel a loose end.  If he indicts some of the middle rankers like Peter Strzok or even reaches up to McCabe that should go a long way to getting one of these rats to sing.  So, I remain hopeful.

But as I said at the beginning, nailing one of these rats is almost useless.  The whole rotten structure of the intelligence agencies has to demolished and rebuilt on a basis that recognizes the primacy of the President’s authority over it.  Without that we’ll be back where we are now sooner or later.  So right up there with “build that wall” should “drain that swamp.”
