{"id":1203,"date":"2017-06-23T07:29:34","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T11:29:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=1203"},"modified":"2017-06-23T07:29:34","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T11:29:34","slug":"lance-the-boil-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2017\/06\/23\/lance-the-boil-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Lance the Boil Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Now that the Resistance seems to have run out of steam and Trump needs to get the Congress in gear on healthcare and tax cuts, it seems to me the time has come to think about firing the Special Counsel Mue<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">ller.\u00a0 The reason for this is the fact that he is assembling a republican \u00a0killing machine.\u00a0 And once it\u2019s been assembled it\u2019s inevitably going to get to work killing republicans.\u00a0 Now, democrats and timid republicans are going to say you can\u2019t fire a special counsel.\u00a0 But, which is more dangerous and destructive, firing him or keeping him?\u00a0 Unless Mueller is actually secretly a friend of Trump\u2019s I don\u2019t see his present actions (hiring Clinton operatives) as anything but inimical to Trump\u2019s administration.\u00a0 And with respect to timing, getting negative press now is much better than getting bad press in a year.\u00a0 We want the mid-term elections to occur when the biggest news stories will be successful republican initiatives (e.g., tax breaks showing up in refund checks and healthcare reform becoming lowered healthcare premiums).\u00a0 So to my mind, the time to lance this boil is now.\u00a0 After all, firing Comey was actually a non-event after all was said and done.\u00a0 Firing Mueller will be basically the same thing.\u00a0 And the fact that Trump hasn\u2019t done it yet may just mean he\u2019s taking a wait and see attitude.\u00a0 That is to my mind a mistake.\u00a0 If you wait until Mueller starts to leak damaging results to the press means people will be reminded of all the nonsense the press dredged up in the first half of the year.\u00a0 And that will scare the cowardly republican congress and that will delay the agenda.\u00a0 Obviously that\u2019s a self-defeating strategy.\u00a0 Lance the boil now, not when it\u2019s too late.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now that the Resistance seems to have run out of steam and Trump needs to get the Congress in gear on healthcare and tax cuts,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5,6],"tags":[249,248,247,16],"class_list":["post-1203","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","category-trump","tag-fire-mueller","tag-lance-the-boil","tag-mueller","tag-trump"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 -
