Here we are going into the third week after the election and, if anything, things are getting weirder.\u00a0 By all indications the fraud that took place was more organized than any typical urban election shenanigans.\u00a0 The rigged computer software and the manufacturing of bogus election ballots on the order of hundreds of thousands of votes looks to be fraud on a scale that even jaded judges will be hesitant to ignore.<\/p>\n
The election certifiers are even getting into the act.\u00a0 The votes for Detroit have been called into question by the two Republican certifiers and I have to assume that we are going to see confidence in the voting process drop to rock bottom levels.\u00a0 Currently 52% of Republican voters surveyed think that the Democrats stole the election and as things become clearer that number will probably rise to 95%.<\/p>\n
President Trump is getting legal help from several people who have shown themselves to be unafraid of the media circus and aren\u2019t worried about being blacklisted by the Democrats and the Never Trump Republicans.\u00a0 The big question mark will be the Supreme Court.\u00a0 In my mind what the President needs is to get the information out to the American public and then let public opinion force the Justice Department and the courts to do their jobs and look to see what the facts on the ground are.\u00a0 We\u2019re no longer in the world of the 1960 Election or even the 2000 Election where worry over damaging America\u2019s trust in the institutions of the government is more important than the results of an election.\u00a0 There is no trust in the institutions of government.\u00a0 That has now become the operating principle.\u00a0 If the 72 million people who voted for Donald Trump think they were cheated, which they do, then effectively Joe Biden would be an illegitimate president.\u00a0 And that will have very serious consequences.\u00a0 We saw how debilitating the \u201cresistance\u201d to President Trump\u2019s administration was.\u00a0 I assume that having half the country sure that you are a crook who cheated his way into the White House would render Joe Biden a veritable prisoner in the Oval Office.\u00a0 Wherever he went he would be booed and hooted at.\u00a0 I won\u2019t even speculate beyond that point.<\/p>\n
On balance I think if President Trump prevails in the election battle the resistance against him will be even more intense than what we have seen up till now.\u00a0 The only difference is that he has become inured to it and has developed strategies and located personnel who can cope with it.\u00a0 In either case we have now reached the point of complete polarization in the country.\u00a0 The proportion of people who haven\u2019t joined one side or the other is minimal.\u00a0 The relationship between the two sides has reached the point of boiling animosity and open conflict including murder has already occurred along the geographic lines where the most radical partisans on both sides find themselves juxtaposed, like Portland and Kenosha.<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t see that things are going to calm down regardless of how the election is decided.\u00a0 From my point of view, it is important to start thinking about living in a country that will become more and more disunited.\u00a0 All the things we\u2019ve been saying about developing our own platforms and institutions is becoming more relevant and crucial.\u00a0 One thing that is clear is that we are living in a treacherous environment.\u00a0 It is important that people are careful about what they say because everything they say can be heard by everybody in the world.\u00a0 Be aware of your surroundings and pay attention to information that can help you avoid trouble.\u00a0 Protect those important to you in every way you can.\u00a0 And most importantly avoid places that you know will be filled with irrational individuals.\u00a0 Physical danger is now not a conspiracy theorist\u2019s paranoid delusion.\u00a0 It\u2019s a living breathing reality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
