{"id":13655,"date":"2021-02-24T22:28:19","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T03:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=13655"},"modified":"2021-02-24T22:28:19","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T03:28:19","slug":"the-ethical-basis-for-our-cause-is-clear-do-we-have-the-courage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2021\/02\/24\/the-ethical-basis-for-our-cause-is-clear-do-we-have-the-courage\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ethical Basis for Our Cause is Clear.\u00a0 Do We Have the Courage?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back 250 years ago the Founding Fathers laid out in the Declaration of Independence why they were casting off their allegiance to King George of England. \u00a0\u00a0I could copy the whole thing here but that\u2019s unnecessary.\u00a0 What is interesting is to see just how many of the complaints have analogs in our present situation.\u00a0 Let\u2019s start with the first cause, the first paragraph.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. <\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>So, we believe that all men are equal. Our opponents believe that people must be treated differently based on the color of their skin.<\/li>\n<li>We enshrined these unalienable rights in the Bill of Rights. Our opponents trample on those rights without regret.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, &#8211;That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>It says that power is derived from the consent of the governed. When elections are fraudulently held there can be no talk of consent.<\/li>\n<li>And it says when government becomes destructive of these rights, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it. That seems very clear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>This one exists now verbatim.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okay that\u2019s enough.\u00a0 Only a fool can ignore the fact that we are in the same moral situation that the Founding Fathers were with Great Britain.\u00a0 The only difference is one of will.\u00a0 The colonists were brave and daring men who were used to fighting wars against other Europeans and the Indian tribes.\u00a0 We have become accustomed to luxury and ease.\u00a0 The wars we fight are fought by a small group of volunteers.\u00a0 And the majority of American citizens are women, something that was unheard of during the Revolutionary War.\u00a0 And women tend to be uneasy about confrontation and violence.<\/p>\n<p>So that\u2019s where we are.\u00a0 When this country was young the men living here wouldn\u2019t allow themselves to be bullied by tyrants.\u00a0 Today the women and the men who emulate them are too cowed to so much as defend themselves when the government sponsored mobs burn down their businesses and assault them in the street of their major cities.\u00a0 They\u2019re even afraid to demand that the teachers that they pay to teach their children either do it or stop getting paid.\u00a0 Hell, they\u2019re too scared to even go to Thanksgiving dinner with their families for fear of being ratted out to the police by Karen next door.<\/p>\n<p>Really the only question is how long will it take to find out if we truly are just slaves of the Left.\u00a0 Here\u2019s a fair test.\u00a0 If you can\u2019t get together with your family on the Fourth of July then just take your flag down and reverently burn it.\u00a0 The country will be officially dead.\u00a0 At that point look for a better place to live.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Back 250 years ago the Founding Fathers laid out in the Declaration of Independence why they were casting off their allegiance to King George of<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[2615,2564,1961],"class_list":["post-13655","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","tag-all-men-are-created-equal","tag-consent-of-the-governed","tag-declaration-of-independence"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>The Ethical Basis for Our Cause is Clear.\u00a0 Do We Have the Courage?
