Good morning my long-suffering readers.\u00a0 What a momentous day.\u00a0 Today at any time, any announcement by the press or the Dementia Administration will be indistinguishable from an April Fool\u2019s Day joke.\u00a0 If today they announced they were going to send a billion dollars, tax free to any and all left-handed Somali tuba players living in Fargo, North Dakota would you be absolutely certain it was a joke?\u00a0 Actually, there is one exception.\u00a0 If they say they are going to do anything sensible we\u2019ll know that is a joke.<\/p>\n

Recognizing that this is such a special occasion for the Left I think I will use today to only look at the bright side.\u00a0 After all there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.\u00a0 I will search high and low for good news.\u00a0 I don\u2019t promise to find anything to say but at least I\u2019ll make the effort.<\/p>\n

Seriously, I think we\u2019re all now well aware of the soup we\u2019re in.\u00a0 Beating the dead horse is not only subject to the law of diminishing returns but it also isn\u2019t any fun for you to read or me to write.\u00a0 I won\u2019t ignore horrible things that need to be commented on and I will provide whatever commentary on the idiocy of our rulers when that seems to accomplish something useful, even if that useful thing is only humor.\u00a0 After all laughter is a positive good.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m going to have to start accentuating the positive.\u00a0 And maybe that means I\u2019ll have to make up stuff myself.\u00a0 I like the picture of the day and the quote of the day because I have control over what I post.\u00a0 I can find something that I think will impact people in a good way.\u00a0 I don\u2019t post the wit and wisdom of Joe Biden or Barack Obama.\u00a0 I won\u2019t showcase photos of transgender drag queen story hour.\u00a0 There are plenty of good and beautiful things in this imperfect and confused world and nothing says I have to look for the ugly and the depraved.<\/p>\n

Spring is upon us.\u00a0 Stuff is starting to sprout and I\u2019ve already seen hellebore flowers and daffodils and the forsythia is about bloom.\u00a0 Yesterday my two-year-old granddaughter went out into the garden and found some \u201cdarling\u201d worms.\u00a0 The world is loaded up with miracles and wonder.\u00a0 Concentrating on George Floyd and Joe Biden is a sucker\u2019s game.\u00a0 I just read a report that said that cities like New York and Chicago are doomed because they\u2019re now too expensive.\u00a0 Good!\u00a0 I left New York City about thirty-five years ago and it was the best decision of my life.\u00a0 And now I see why.\u00a0 Human beings are like any other life form we follow the gradients that increase pleasure and decrease pain.\u00a0 We naturally go toward the good and flee the evil.\u00a0 A place that either purposefully or mistakenly inflicts pain on its inhabitants doesn\u2019t encourage those people to stay.\u00a0 The riots of last summer on top of the COVID captivity were like some kind of laboratory experiment to see how quickly the largest city in North America could destroy itself.\u00a0 It worked perfectly.<\/p>\n

So, let\u2019s look for the good in this.\u00a0 Make it a point to live where the people aren\u2019t crazy.\u00a0 When you look for a school for your kids ask them to show you the books and the lesson plans, they use for social studies.\u00a0 Ask them if they have content on transgenderism and ask them if they mention white privilege.\u00a0 Be smart and be careful.\u00a0 You may have to pay more money to find a good school or you may have to home school your children.\u00a0 Well, kids are an expensive investment.\u00a0 You should protect your investment.\u00a0 But look at the upside too.\u00a0 If your kids are going to a school that has your values then it\u2019s more likely that you\u2019ll enjoy being around the teachers and the other parents.\u00a0 Maybe not all of them.\u00a0 But the odds will be with you instead of against you.<\/p>\n

Well. that\u2019s enough.\u00a0 No April Fool\u2019s Day surprises from me today.\u00a0 Just a surprising new outlook.\u00a0 Even a fool can find something to smile about in April.<\/p>\n
