P. Lovecraft fan? \u00a0Then for you, \u201cWhispers from the Abyss\u201d is a no-brainer.\u00a0 It\u2019s a cornucopia of Lovecraftian themes and inhuman doom.\u00a0 You are bound to enjoy the majority of the stories and probably find some writers whose work you\u2019ll want to check out.\u00a0 And for those of you who buy books made of paper instead of electrons, I\u2019ll say that the paperback book was a high-quality item with very nice cover art and excellent readability.<\/p>\n<p>For you Lovecraft agnostics it\u2019s a judgement call.\u00a0 There is a mixture of styles and as a fellow agnostic I was happy to find a few stories that I thought were very good.\u00a0 And there were a number that didn\u2019t work for me.\u00a0 And that make sense.\u00a0 Without the Lovecraft bias the authors are fighting an uphill battle to get my sympathy.\u00a0 And I would say there is a generational thing going on.\u00a0 Any time the author includes even the smallest left-wing jibe, whether it\u2019s an anti-religion or anti-male remark it jars me right out of the story.\u00a0 So, I\u2019m probably not the target audience for several of these stories.\u00a0 So that needs to be taken into consideration if you have similar inhibitions.\u00a0 But if not then you\u2019ll probably be fine with the material in all these tales.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll close by saying if you\u2019re a horror fan and especially if you\u2019re a Lovecraft fan I think you\u2019ll enjoy this book.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whispers from The Abyss \u2013 Part 2 &nbsp; So, I\u2019ll sum it all up.
