So today is the last full day of summer.\u00a0 Gahhh!\u00a0 The horror begins soon so it\u2019s time to have fun while we can.\u00a0 Saturday I\u2019ll have my two older grandsons over for a Lord of the Rings marathon.\u00a0 I think the extended version comes to about eleven hours.\u00a0 Breaking it up with grilled cheese sandwiches for them and corned beef and swiss for me, it will be a full day.\u00a0 Dinner will be another fan favorite spaghetti and meat balls.\u00a0 Camera Girl will do the cooking but abstain from the cinema.\u00a0 She\u2019s a Tolkien agnostic, heaven help her.<\/p>\n

As anyone who faithfully reads my reviews knows I consider Justified the most consistently well written and actualized tv drama I\u2019ve ever seen.\u00a0 I have a theory that it\u2019s because the source material is much better than that of the typical (or even superior) tv-show.\u00a0 So, I\u2019m putting it to the test.<\/p>\n

Right now, I\u2019m reading Elmore Leonard\u2019s Raylan Givens novels and short stories.\u00a0 I read the short story \u201cFire in the Hole\u201d that was the basis for the first episode of Justified.\u00a0 The other stories in the collection (of the same name) were all very good too.\u00a0 Leonard has an enormous reputation as one of the most popular crime writers.\u00a0 And he has had over twenty of his books made into movies (not counting the tv series Justified).\u00a0 Based on all that I figure I\u2019ll find out what all the hype is about.\u00a0 So, I want to see how I like his stuff.\u00a0 So far, I\u2019m impressed.<\/p>\n

The political scene continues to boil like the spaghetti pot I\u2019ll be involved with on Saturday.\u00a0 Trump continues to engage all important events in his typical iconic and bombastic style.\u00a0 Of course, you\u2019d have to be made of stone not to be nervous about all the various balls in the air.\u00a0 But I\u2019ve learned to give Trump some time to get things done in his own way.\u00a0 After all he is herding particularly annoying cats (and rats).\u00a0 The right-wing folks are going through some growing pains on the various sites.\u00a0 Hopefully it\u2019ll sort itself out sooner than later.\u00a0 I take a sort of neutral position on these things and wait to see how things are settled.<\/p>\n

On the photography front I\u2019ve added the ability to embed photos in the comments so go ahead if something in a post inspires a photo of your own.\u00a0 The plug-in that makes this possible has the following instructions:<\/p>\n

    I\u2019m not an expert on this computer stuff so I\u2019ll do my best to get things to work but have patience if there are problems.<\/p>\n

    On the review front, I\u2019m going to write something on my recent toe-dip into anime.\u00a0 In addition to my recent viewing of Cowboy Bebop I watched Ghost in the Shell 2.0.\u00a0 I\u2019ll share my thoughts.<\/p>\n

    Other film ideas, I rented the second John Wick film and I\u2019ll put together my thoughts on both films after watching it, maybe this weekend.<\/p>\n
