The President just called out the NFL.\u00a0 He said any owner who fired an anthem kneeler would get instant approval from the fans.\u00a0 Is that true?\u00a0 Well not the minority fans or women.\u00a0 Most women aren\u2019t particularly patriotic and the minority fans are the ones who agree with the kneelers.\u00a0 So basically he\u2019s talking about white men.\u00a0 Well, alright, if that\u2019s the case let\u2019s take this to its logical conclusion.\u00a0 Suppose 70% of white men decided to boycott the NFL for one week.\u00a0 Would there be any effect?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 Would it be consequential?\u00a0 I think it might.<\/p>\n
Currently, corporations like the NFL and ESPN think that they can take the white male demographic for granted because they are overwhelmingly fans of their product.\u00a0 For this reason they can push an agenda that focuses on attracting and catering to the opinions of women and minorities.\u00a0 Lately this has become tiresome and unpleasant for white men (and probably others too).\u00a0 And so far they have gotten away with it with only limited loss of white male patronage.\u00a0 After all this is the sport we want to see.\u00a0 And we\u2019ve learned to ignore the banter from the female sidelines color commentator and skip the pre- and post-game shows that cater specifically to minority concerns.<\/p>\n
But lately the players have crossed the line into injecting their anti-American opinions into the National Anthem singing.\u00a0 And it is getting a bit thick.\u00a0 What it\u2019s coming down to is we\u2019re watching people on tv who don\u2019t like us and aren\u2019t afraid to let us know it.\u00a0 Well, the NFL has been open about saying that free speech is an American tradition.\u00a0 Why shouldn\u2019t we give them a demonstration of it in action?<\/p>\n
Suppose we turned off the games?\u00a0 All of them.\u00a0 Start on Sunday and roll into Monday.\u00a0 Would be nice to spend a little more time with the wife and kids.\u00a0 Maybe take them to a movie or a local sports game.\u00a0 Go to bed early on Monday and get a good night\u2019s sleep.\u00a0 Doesn\u2019t sound like such a hardship.\u00a0 Then extend it to the other games they have now Thursday, or Saturday or whatever.\u00a0 When Sunday rolls around again I\u2019m guessing that the NFL and ESPN and Fox and CBS, NBC, ABC and all the sponsors would be completely freaking out.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m not a gambler but I did win a bet on Trump\u2019s election last year.\u00a0 I\u2019d be willing to wager a pretty substantial sum that if the viewership of NFL games went down by the equivalent of 70% of the white male audience, that the owners would tell the kneelers to get on tv and apologize to America or find new jobs on Monday.<\/p>\n
Trump is smart.\u00a0 And he knows the art of the deal.\u00a0 And this is one deal I\u2019d like to be a part of.\u00a0 All it needs is a catchy slogan.\u00a0 How about \u201cPull the plug on a kneeling thug?\u201d\u00a0 Or, \u201cTell the NFL to go to hell.\u201d\u00a0 Or even, \u201cDon\u2019t like America?\u00a0 Well, bye!\u201d\u00a0 Something like that might catch their attention.\u00a0 But shutting off the game certainly will do more than get their attention.\u00a0 It\u2019ll scare the hell out of them.\u00a0 And I\u2019m guessing it\u2019s the best first step in getting the country back we can make.\u00a0 And along with shutting the tv, send an e-mail to the NFL and ESPN and tell them why you did it.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure they\u2019d love hearing from you.\u00a0 Well, maybe love is the wrong word.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
