{"id":15103,"date":"2021-07-02T17:08:42","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T21:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=15103"},"modified":"2021-07-02T17:08:42","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T21:08:42","slug":"hang-em-high-1968-a-movie-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2021\/07\/02\/hang-em-high-1968-a-movie-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Hang &#8216;Em High (1968) \u2013 A Movie Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Clint Eastwood stars as Jed Cooper, a former law man who is mistaken for a rustler and murderer by a posse and is hanged.\u00a0 A U.S. Marshall comes upon him and cuts him down in time to save his life.\u00a0 The Marshall brings Cooper in and his story is corroborated.\u00a0 And the local judge Adam Fenton offers him a job as a Marshall with warrants for the arrest of the men who hanged him.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the movie revolves around Cooper\u2019s attempts to bring the eleven men who hanged him to justice.\u00a0 In the interim there is a love story between Cooper and Inger Stevens who plays a store owner named Rachel Warren who was also the victim of violence.\u00a0 Ed Begley, Bruce Dern, Alan Hale, Jr and Dennis Hopper appear as members of the posse in supporting roles.\u00a0 But this is Eastwood\u2019s movie.<\/p>\n<p>I found some parts of the story were overly drawn out and dragged.\u00a0 The action scenes were good.\u00a0 In addition to Eastwood, I would say Pat Hingle who played the judge was the most interesting character.\u00a0 Overall, I enjoyed the movie.\u00a0 But I am a western fan.<\/p>\n<p>So, what\u2019s the verdict?\u00a0 As a specimen of the \u201cnew western\u201d this is a good representative.\u00a0 If you\u2019re a western fan I think you\u2019ll like this film.\u00a0 If you\u2019ve never seen a western it might seem stilted and slow.\u00a0 I enjoyed it within the limitations I mentioned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clint Eastwood stars as Jed Cooper, a former law man who is mistaken for a rustler and murderer by a posse and is hanged.\u00a0 A<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[239,237],"tags":[3158,3157,43,38,1355,97],"class_list":["post-15103","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-movie-reviews","category-reviews","tag-bruce-dern","tag-clint-eastwood","tag-movie-review","tag-review","tag-reviews","tag-westerns"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 -
