Psalm 23 (King James Version)<\/strong><\/p>\n

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cHe restoreth my soul.\u201d\u00a0 The perfect words.\u00a0 Getting together with the family, especially the grandkids did just that.\u00a0 Fooling around at the pool table with my younger grandsons and watching old movies and eating absurd amounts of fattening foods and joking and laughing was \u201cA Medicine for Melancholy.\u201d\u00a0 Camera Girl clocked multiple days of preparation and cooked up a storm.\u00a0 She fell asleep exhausted last night but woke up today smiling and looking forward to the Friday sequel when even more family will be over.<\/p>\n

I sat down and talked about current business problems with one of my sons-in-law.\u00a0 He runs a medium-sized manufacturing plant and they just can\u2019t find good help at any reasonable price.\u00a0 But just telling his situation to someone who knows what he\u2019s talking about is therapeutic and I was glad he confided in me.\u00a0 Maybe I\u2019ll figure out something that could help.\u00a0 But just talking is good.\u00a0 We all get wrapped up in our own problems.\u00a0 We lose track of how others, even close family, are getting along or aren\u2019t getting along.\u00a0 Knowing that someone else would benefit from some small help is valuable.\u00a0 We break out of our silos as they say in management speak.<\/p>\n

How about that!\u00a0 The world isn\u2019t quite ready to collapse yet.\u00a0 We\u2019ll get to breathe and eat and laugh and cry.\u00a0 There are all kinds of useful things we can do right around us even as Dementia Joe and the rest of the looters figure out new ways to degrade this once great nation.<\/p>\n

Talk to your friends and family.\u00a0 Spend time with them.\u00a0 Figure out how you can help them.\u00a0 Make their lives better and it\u2019ll make your life better too.\u00a0 The world doesn\u2019t really consist just of trans-gender lunatics and critical race theory propagandists.\u00a0 It consists of your family and friends and the life they have to lead.\u00a0 Sure, those other things impact them and you can help to offset some of that harm with information you can provide.\u00a0 But the focus is on the positive things that you do and say.\u00a0 Do them.\u00a0 Say them.\u00a0 Because it\u2019s the neglect of doing the things that need to be done that leaves room for the madness to creep in.<\/p>\n

I must sound like someone hopped up on amphetamines but it\u2019s just amazing.\u00a0 The COVID isolation must have beat my soul down pretty bad.\u00a0 Because the lift I got from a regular Thanksgiving get together is phenomenal.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hopefully by Monday I\u2019ll be able to muster up some gloom and doom.\u00a0 But right now, I\u2019m looking forward to round two.\u00a0 Enjoy your long holiday weekend.<\/p>\n
