{"id":1829,"date":"2017-11-25T19:06:23","date_gmt":"2017-11-26T00:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=1829"},"modified":"2017-11-25T21:12:55","modified_gmt":"2017-11-26T02:12:55","slug":"ryan-binghams-mescalito-a-very-short-country-music-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2017\/11\/25\/ryan-binghams-mescalito-a-very-short-country-music-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Bingham\u2019s \u201cMescalito\u201d \u2013 A Very Short Country Music Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan Bingham is one of these new country singer\/songwriters who sing about life and drugs and stuff.\u00a0 There\u2019s a definite southwestern flavor to a number of the songs and one song even features a Spanish lyric or two (Borachio Station).\u00a0 My opinion of the songs varies from very good to meh.\u00a0 For me the standout song is Bread and Water.\u00a0 It\u2019s got a sort of hard driving beat with banjos and guitars telling the story of a trek across the southwest.\u00a0 The other songs vary in style and feeling going from traditional to more modern feels.\u00a0 For me Southside of Heaven and Long Way from Georgia are the best of the rest. \u00a0Interestingly there\u2019s a definite Springsteen influence detectable on the vocals of some songs.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure if this is a positive or a negative for me.<\/p>\n<p>If you want, listen to Bread and Water.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t like that song, then in my opinion don\u2019t bother with the rest.\u00a0 If you do then maybe Bingham might be interesting to you.\u00a0 So that\u2019s my read.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Since my readers don&#8217;t always stop by every day I figured I&#8217;d paste this poll on each post for a while to see what folks call themselves.\u00a0 This is the post the poll came from\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2017\/11\/08\/who-are-we\/\">Who Are We?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230; And that got me thinking.
