I was looking over some headlines and the following one by the NY Times caught my eye. “How Do We Deal With a Superpower Led by a War Criminal?”\u00a0 And being the objective, logical thinker I am, I thought, “The New York times is turning on Biden?\u00a0 How strange!”<\/p>\n
Of course I joke, ha ha.\u00a0 But really think back to the disastrous Afghan surrender debacle.\u00a0 When a suicide bomber killed thirteen American military personnel Biden ordered a retaliatory drone strike that killed a car full of Afghan children.\u00a0 I think the NY Times would have been happy to label a Republican Commander in Chief as a “war criminal” on the strength of such a stupid and irresponsible act.<\/p>\n
It’s remarkable just how little objective truth any longer enters into “the news.”\u00a0 It’s propaganda all the time.\u00a0 And it’s not a one way street.\u00a0 Both sides blast away with their spin 24\/7.\u00a0 And we’ve all adapted.\u00a0 I don’t think I give credence to a single thing I read in the mainstream media unless it passes all of my smell tests.\u00a0 And that goes double for right-wing sources.<\/p>\n
Nowadays I tend to look for stories that give bad news for their own partisans.\u00a0 Those are the only stories that I can depend on not being propaganda.\u00a0 After all you don’t tell bad news that isn’t true about your own guys.\u00a0 It doesn’t sell papers or garner clicks or whatever the business model is now.<\/p>\n
So that brings me to the latest headlines.<\/p>\n
