The Department of Homeland Security’s much criticized disinformation governance board is being paused after concerns it would infringe free speech and complaints about its executive director.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\nLess than a month after President Joe Biden’s administration touted the initiative, DHS has suspended the board, pending a review, with the future of its leader, Nina Jankowicz, still undecided.<\/strong><\/p>\n\u201cNina Jankowicz has been subjected to unjustified and vile personal attacks and physical threats,\u201d a DHS spokesperson told the Washington Post Wednesday. \u201cIn congressional hearings and in media interviews, the Secretary has repeatedly defended her as eminently qualified and underscored the importance of the Department\u2019s disinformation work, and he will continue to do so.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\nThis is wonderful.\u00a0 An awful government entity has been literally mocked out of existence.\u00a0 Now let’s get busy working on the Education Department.\u00a0 And while we’re at it let’s see if we can get Pete Buttigieg sent home too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
