I didn\u2019t celebrate Pride Month.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t celebrate Juneteenth.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t celebrate Black History Month or Women\u2019s History Month or any other history month.\u00a0 I did celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Columbus Day, Washington\u2019s Birthday and all the holidays we had back in the good old days.\u00a0 And I will be celebrating the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n
The Fourth of July commemorates the War of Independence and the Founding Fathers\u2019 courage and wisdom in creating a new nation and providing it with an enlightened Constitution that provided the framework for living a free life.<\/p>\n
Nowadays those Founding Fathers and their Constitution are targets for hate and derision by the Left and anyone else who buys into their whole George Floyd\/Black Lives Matter\/anti-white campaign.\u00a0 To them the Fourth of July is just a reminder of all the injustice and racism they claim is inherent in America and its history.<\/p>\n
Well. good.\u00a0 Let them disown the Fourth categorically and absolutely.\u00a0 Let them reject anyone who celebrates it as a deplorable enemy of all they stand for.\u00a0 That suits me right down to my toes.\u00a0 It makes my enjoyment of the fireworks and the barbecues and the parades that much the sweeter.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow my grandchildren will be riding on wagon covered in July 4th<\/sup> posters and other artwork of their design in a parade.\u00a0 The wagon will be pulled by a tractor that their father and uncle will be driving.\u00a0 And when they get to the town common, they\u2019ll listen to music, speeches, poems and other patriotic thoughts that were written centuries ago by Jefferson, Paine and Henry.\u00a0 And I\u2019ll stand on the side of the street and wave to them and applaud their efforts and afterward we\u2019ll celebrate with some more hot dogs and hamburgers and watermelon.<\/p>\n And tomorrow night we\u2019ll watch the local fireworks displays.\u00a0 They won\u2019t be anything too spectacular.\u00a0 They\u2019re not a patch on the ones I used to watch in New York City when I was young.\u00a0 Those were spectacular.\u00a0 But these are just as important.\u00a0 Maybe more so.\u00a0 They represent the local enthusiasm and will to celebrate the things that we believe in.\u00a0 This is us saying we are the United States of America.\u00a0 Anyone who says that this is a racist and evil country is not an American.<\/p>\n He is a parasite growing at the expense of his host.\u00a0 Eventually he hopes to kill off his host and replace him.\u00a0 Right now, we haven\u2019t managed to find the drug that will kill this parasite.\u00a0 So, we have to suffer the symptoms.\u00a0 But we definitely don\u2019t have to pretend that this creature is part of the body.\u00a0 We don\u2019t have to cooperate with its destructive activities or treat it as a friend.\u00a0 Its only goal is our destruction and our only goal is to cut off its blood supply and poison it.<\/p>\n Well, all that is not the result of eating some hamburgers and shooting off some fireworks.\u00a0 But those are the things that give children the message that this is a country worth defending from those who would take away our freedoms and prosperity and replace them with poverty and dependency.\u00a0 So that makes celebrating the Fourth of July a worthwhile and strengthening endeavor.\u00a0 And based on the current propaganda it is also transgressive and defiant.\u00a0 It\u2019s a thumb in the eye of the Biden administration and its \u201cnew world order.\u201d\u00a0 After all what do parades, fireworks and barbecues have in common?\u00a0 Well, they all add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.\u00a0 Chew on that Dementia Joe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I didn\u2019t celebrate Pride Month.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t celebrate Juneteenth.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t celebrate Black History Month or Women\u2019s History Month or any other history month.\u00a0 I<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[26,3072,1960],"class_list":["post-19630","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","tag-american-exceptionalism","tag-american-history","tag-fourth-of-july"],"yoast_head":"\n
