So, what to write about today?\u00a0 Creepy Uncle Joe buying votes in the mid-terms by canceling student loans?\u00a0 Meh.\u00a0 Handicapping the mid-terms?\u00a0 Boring.\u00a0 Now there were a few headlines that caught my attention.\u00a0 Donald Trump implores the senate Republicans to dump Mitch McConnell as leader when they take back the Senate.\u00a0 Now that\u2019s a great headline.\u00a0 And it\u2019s good advice.\u00a0 But what\u2019s there to say about it other than it\u2019s a good idea.<\/p>\n
And my current personal projects aren\u2019t really that universal in their appeal.\u00a0 Right now I\u2019m trying to learn enough PHP and MySQL coding to automate some very time-consuming changes to my website.\u00a0 The book I\u2019m working from is about a thousand pages long and I\u2019ve just gotten past the introduction so it\u2019ll be a tough slog.<\/p>\n
I haven\u2019t read or watched any interesting stories in the last few days.\u00a0 And I\u2019m way behind on my photo work and the fiction writing.\u00a0 The whole system is falling apart.<\/p>\n
So, what\u2019s causing all this havoc?\u00a0 Well, we\u2019ve been overrun for the last week (and will be into next week) with grandkids.\u00a0 The little devils have successfully invaded the Compound and are monopolizing Camera Girl\u2019s time.\u00a0 Worse still they\u2019ve subjugated me too.\u00a0 When I\u2019m not overseeing their infestation of the swimming pool, I\u2019m forced to play chess with one of them or read stories to another.\u00a0 And they even have me ferrying them around to the neighboring towns for tennis practice or school open house or whatever.<\/p>\n
Actually, it\u2019s kind of great.\u00a0 My third oldest grandson is becoming a pretty decent pool player and a very good chess player to boot.\u00a0 And tonight, my little granddaughter asked for three extra bedtime stories from her old grandfather instead of from Camera Girl.\u00a0 It seems that she likes the same stories I read to her mother more than thirty years ago.<\/p>\n
Really the only downside to all this babysitting is the lack of time.\u00a0 It turns out I really do need time to write the stuff I post here.\u00a0 There\u2019s no way to multi-task while you\u2019re refereeing young children at play.\u00a0 They\u2019re just too dynamic and need to be monitored pretty closely to prevent bickering from exploding into fisticuffs.\u00a0 I have to rule with an iron fist.\u00a0 Well, it\u2019s probably more like a lot of haranguing by me but you get the idea.<\/p>\n
But honestly, the political scene is just status quo.\u00a0 After the FBI\u2019s gestapo tactics against Trump there\u2019s not much to say.\u00a0 We know where things stand and we\u2019re just waiting to see whether the electorate repudiates the Democrats or acquiesces in our new status as a banana republic.\u00a0 So that just leaves me cultural and general interest topics to write about until the feds do something even more outrageously unconstitutional.<\/p>\n
And of course, that\u2019s bound to happen in the next week or so.\u00a0 Biden is desperate to change the story away from runaway inflation.\u00a0 He\u2019ll attempt to bribe some other constituency with another illegal executive order.\u00a0 The only question is whether it\u2019ll be transgender polo players or normalizing monkey pox at America\u2019s gay bath houses.\u00a0 So, bear with me.\u00a0 Things will return to normal soon and I\u2019ll be back to decrying civilizational collapse again before you know it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
