Returning to the subject of yesterday\u2019s post<\/a>, I was considering what kind of effects might be caused by a country sabotaging the valuable infrastructure of a country with which it was not in a state of war.\u00a0 What immediately came to mind was reciprocation.\u00a0 Currently a new pipeline is going into operation from Norway to Poland.\u00a0 Would it surprise anyone if that pipeline were sabotaged?\u00a0 Now maybe this isn\u2019t something the Russians would want to do.\u00a0 Maybe they have other fish to fry with the Poles.\u00a0 But it seems to me that the US has moved into entirely new territory with the bombing of the pipelines and they should expect the Russians to respond in kind.<\/p>\n

Now, maybe this is all according to plan.\u00a0 Maybe the people running our foreign policy (and domestic policy) are looking for a response.\u00a0 As I said yesterday, this may be a tail wagging the dog operation they\u2019re running and they need a Russian reaction to provide a distraction from the economy during the mid-term elections.\u00a0 If that\u2019s the case they may be hoping for something soon and drastic.\u00a0 If nothing happens then probably the CIA will be disappointed.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure they want acknowledgement for their wanton destruction.\u00a0 Maybe a commendation.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the thing.\u00a0 This is a different level of provocation than even the military aid we\u2019ve given the Ukraine.\u00a0 Even with the targeting information and advanced artillery we\u2019ve provided to the Ukrainians the actual attacks have been through proxies.\u00a0 The sabotaging of the pipelines was done by United States directly.\u00a0 It was a non-military target and it was completely unrelated to the Ukraine conflict.\u00a0 It will be answered.<\/p>\n

Really the only question is when.\u00a0 Supposedly the Russians are pretty savvy about injecting their actions into the politics of their adversaries.\u00a0 After all, hacked by Putin is a byword of Democrat party fear.\u00a0 What they might do is wait for the mid-term elections to conclude and then once the Democrats have been trounced and can\u2019t benefit from the distraction, I imagine some kind of revenge might occur.\u00a0 What it might be is hard to know.\u00a0 I have no knowledge of the relative vulnerabilities of different sections of US infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The most likely thing would be an underwater pipeline.\u00a0 That is what\u2019s known as poetic justice.\u00a0 But it could be anything.\u00a0 It might not be sabotage.\u00a0 It could be a data dump based on some kind of espionage that would be especially embarrassing to the Biden government.\u00a0 It could be a terror attack coordinated with a Mexican drug cartel.\u00a0 After all the southern border is essentially wide open.\u00a0 It could be almost anything.<\/p>\n

But the point is the Biden administration has gone out of its way to slap Russia in the face.\u00a0 Chances are there will be a response and chances are it will be an escalation.\u00a0 My only hope is that innocent Americans aren\u2019t hurt or killed in the process.\u00a0 But this is what happens when the foreign policy of a superpower is put in the hands of Yale and Harvard goofballs.\u00a0 Maybe in 2024 we can rejoin the community of responsible nations again.\u00a0 Until then just pray it all doesn\u2019t go nuclear.<\/p>\n
