Today I heard the crushing news that \u201cBros\u201d had crashed at the box office<\/a> in its first week of release.\u00a0 This first of its kind sexually explicit gay romantic comedy only took in $4.8 MM on its first weekend.\u00a0 Shocker, right? \u00a0I mean who wouldn\u2019t be lined up to see romantic misunderstandings and men buggering each other on the big screen.\u00a0 You\u2019ll laugh, you\u2019ll cry, you\u2019ll throw up.\u00a0 And even if you\u2019re a guy and rom-coms aren\u2019t your thing why wouldn\u2019t you let the little lady take you for a date movie to see love and monkey pox triumph.<\/p>\n

I immediately blamed homophobia.\u00a0 After all, the movie has a 91% critic\u2019s score on Rotten Tomatoes and a Cinemascore from audiences of A.\u00a0 What else could account for normal people skipping out on this entertainment treat?\u00a0 All kidding aside, who did the makers of this film think would be going to see it?\u00a0 Basically, gay men.\u00a0 Normal men have exactly zero interest in this thing.\u00a0 Normal women aren\u2019t lining up to watch men sodomize each other.\u00a0 Even lesbians have no desire to see what these guys do to each other.\u00a0 I guess to be fair, although it\u2019s not a huge audience, bisexual men might show up too.\u00a0 But then that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

The movie cost $22MM to make and then you\u2019ve got to add in the advertising budget.\u00a0 Let\u2019s say tickets are ten bucks each then all it takes is four million gay men to go see it and it\u2019s at least at break even.\u00a0 Surely there are four million gays in America.\u00a0 They seem to be everywhere you look.\u00a0 So, if the movie is tanking then it follows as the night follows day that it must be because most gay men in America are homophobes.<\/p>\n

I know it\u2019s hard to believe but there\u2019s no way around it.\u00a0 Maybe something can be done on social media.\u00a0 Some kind of non-fungible token (NFT) could be displayed by gay men to prove that they\u2019ve gone to see Bros at least once.\u00a0 And anyone not displaying the NFT on his twitter feed should be driven out of the LGBTQ community and forced to wear a MAGA hat in public.<\/p>\n

These people make me laugh.\u00a0 They expect to get people to go see this crap.\u00a0 Sure, they force everybody to pretend to approve of this stuff at work and school.\u00a0 But people go to the movies to be entertained.\u00a0 They don\u2019t want to be miserable there.\u00a0 Only masochists and humorless scolds go to a movie to prove a point.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if a good chunk of the \u201cgay community\u201d aren\u2019t interested in this movie either.<\/p>\n

So maybe this will be a teachable moment for the Left.\u00a0 People can be bullied into paying lip service to things they dislike but that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019ve been brainwashed into really believing the propaganda.\u00a0 So, if sexually explicit gay romantic comedies are something they want available then by all means let them pay the hundred-dollar ticket price that would make that economically viable.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m guessing $75 for popcorn would be about right.\u00a0 Free refills!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
