Every day something crazier than the day before appears in the news.\u00a0 It\u2019s like the name of that old tv show. \u201cCan You Top This?\u201d\u00a0 If Biden starts emptying out the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, then OPEC deducts two million barrels a day of oil from the market.\u00a0 Ukraine stages a kamikaze assault on the Russian lines and Putin annexes the Russian provinces of Ukraine.\u00a0 Italy elects a right-wing woman as prime minister and the EU threatens to withhold funding due to too much democracy.\u00a0 The Germans warn they are running out of fuel so the United States sabotages the Nord Stream pipelines.<\/p>\n
It seems that the only strategy anyone can think of is doubling and redoubling every time they lose a bet.\u00a0 It feels like we\u2019re at the \u201cgo for broke\u201d table at some insane global casino.\u00a0 Going all the way back to 2001 more and more bizarre actions by the US government has been the rule.\u00a0 A disconnect between reality and events has occurred.\u00a0 It\u2019s like that road runner cartoon scene where Wiley Coyote has run off a cliff but keeps going in a straight-line walking on thin air.\u00a0 And somehow gravity doesn\u2019t catch up with him until he looks down and sees nothing under his feet but thin air.\u00a0 Then he drops like a stone.\u00a0 It feels like the whole world is that coyote running on air, running on empty.<\/p>\n
The only question is, have we looked down yet?\u00a0 I get the idea that it is beginning to unravel.\u00a0 The first sign is the oil prices.\u00a0 Joe ran us off the cliff by announcing that he was going to wean us off petroleum.\u00a0 He poured a trillion dollar into the green new deal.\u00a0 No more gas cars, no more natural gas to heat our homes and run our businesses.\u00a0 No more pipelines, no more federal leases for exploration.\u00a0 The only thing he forgot was windmills and solar panels aren\u2019t real.<\/p>\n
And what do you know.\u00a0 The price of oil doubled.\u00a0 So, he panics and starts drawing down the strategic reserve.\u00a0 But that\u2019s a temporary fix.\u00a0 And now the Saudis and the Russians and the Iranians smell blood in the water so they\u2019re gonna start torturing us.\u00a0 Winter comes and oil becomes scarce and expensive.\u00a0 But what is he going to do?\u00a0 What new friends will he turn to?\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t have any left.<\/p>\n
The economy is very weak.\u00a0 The recession that American officials want to claim won\u2019t happen is already in full bloom in Europe.\u00a0 And the green new deal is already riling up the farmers in Europe and anyone who has to pay a fuel bill or a food bill.\u00a0 In the words of Howard Beale, \u201cI don\u2019t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. \u00a0\u2026\u00a0 We know things are bad. Worse than bad. They\u2019re crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
So he\u2019s driven us off a cliff and now he needs a nuclear war to distract us from being cold and hungry.\u00a0 And who knows, maybe these sociopaths will do that too.\u00a0 At this point I\u2019ll be far from surprised.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be horrified but not surprised.\u00a0 But for the sake of keeping this from becoming apocalyptic assume for a minute that the Russians don\u2019t launch any nukes.\u00a0 Then the way things are going, where does this all end up?\u00a0 Assume that the Dems lose the House and the Senate.\u00a0 What does Crazy Joe do for the next two years?\u00a0 Does he tack to the middle?\u00a0 Does he reverse his energy policy?\u00a0 Or does he stay the course?<\/p>\n
If he continues down this road, the recession is going to be very painful.\u00a0 Millions of people will be out of work and that spells disaster for the presidential election in 2024.\u00a0 He can arrest Donald Trump and anyone else he cares to.\u00a0 But a recession in 2023 is a political disaster in 2024.\u00a0 He\u2019ll sink his party for sure if he lets that happen.\u00a0 But that\u2019s what the green new deal equals.\u00a0 My guess is he stays the course.\u00a0 Joe is just the front man for more important people.\u00a0 And this is what they want to do.\u00a0 This is what they will do!<\/p>\n
So that brings me back to the original question.\u00a0 How do this end?\u00a0 The surprising answer is that they make this happen.\u00a0 They crash the old system and keep the rest of us on life support while the Great Contraction whittles us down to nothing over time.<\/p>\n
The only way it turns out otherwise is if someone steps forward and stops it.\u00a0 Someone with the smarts and the stones to derail this plan and send us down an alternate path.\u00a0 Is there such a man?\u00a0 The answer to that question will tell you how this ends.\u00a0 I\u2019d guess it\u2019s one chance in a hundred.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
