So, as I mentioned a week or two ago, there\u2019s a retroactive change I want to make to the site involving something called search engine optimization (SEO).\u00a0 It\u2019s obscure and boring and possibly make believe but I figured I should make the change to about 5, 500 older posts.\u00a0 But it requires an enormous amount of manual copying and pasting so I wanted to automate it.\u00a0 But the database manipulations I want to make are not routine and I thought required one of two things.\u00a0 Either I have to learn how to program in the PHP and MySQL languages or I had to use two plugins (think of them as small stand-alone programs that can be added to my site\u2019s software).\u00a0 But one of the plugins costs a bunch of money so I was too outraged to pay for it.\u00a0 By a stroke of good fortune, I found a different plug-in that was almost as good but much cheaper.\u00a0 Yeeha!<\/p>\n

But with all things too good to be true comes the payoff.\u00a0 I also needed to upgrade my backup system and that\u2019s going to require upgrading my cloud storage.\u00a0 Gack!\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ve spent the bulk of the day setting up a link to my new storage site from the website with all sorts of problems with various layers of security programming standing in the way.\u00a0 Finally, it\u2019s uploading the backup but it\u2019s been a humbling experience.\u00a0 And I\u2019m also getting a lesson in why working with redundantly encrypted data is a royal pain.\u00a0 It uploads at the slowest rate imaginable.\u00a0 But later on, tonight I\u2019ll try to make those SEO modifications to those thousands of old posts.\u00a0 If the site disappears hopefully, it\u2019ll just be a (short) refresh to get it back to its old self.\u00a0 But fingers crossed.<\/p>\n

It’s still early in the voting but it looks like maybe some folks would like me to increase the font size on the site from 12 pt to 14 pt.\u00a0 The reason I asked about this was recently I was on a website and noticed how nice the type looked.\u00a0 After checking on the text I realized it was 14 pt and wondered if maybe I was making life difficult for people to read the smaller font size.\u00a0 Luckily that is a very easy fix to make.\u00a0 Even I can make the CSS modification.<\/p>\n

Well back to the website salt mines for me.\u00a0 Pray that my sentence is reduced down from life at hard labor.<\/p>\n
