{"id":21847,"date":"2023-01-15T11:12:50","date_gmt":"2023-01-15T16:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=21847"},"modified":"2023-01-16T16:09:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T21:09:34","slug":"heres-a-post-about-whats-wrong-with-modern-churches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2023\/01\/15\/heres-a-post-about-whats-wrong-with-modern-churches\/","title":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s a Post About What&#8217;s Wrong with Modern Churches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bear Grylls is a reality tv personality.\u00a0 He does a lot of wilderness survival stuff.\u00a0 And from what I read in this article he&#8217;s hawking a couple of books and probably some other stuff too.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/books\/bear-grylls-says-faith-is-key-part-of-survivors-toolbox.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">But a lot of what he&#8217;s saying here is quite true.\u00a0 What he says about the modern churches rings true for me<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;He expressed his distaste for what he called \u201creligious language,\u201d sanitizing messages in such a way where people \u201ccan\u2019t be honest, can\u2019t express doubt and can\u2019t fail.\u201d The Church, he said, is \u201cthe place to have doubts and questions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cLook at the early Church. It was a roomful of people eating and drinking and doubting and struggling and arguing,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But the Church today, he said, has gotten away from that.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cProbably most of the people in the congregation have substance abuse, and probably most of their congregations struggle with porn and all that sort of stuff,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat a relief it is when a pastor can stand up and go, \u2018Welcome to the hospital, folks. Here we go. I&#8217;m just standing alongside you on the road, failing our way through, but reaching out of desperation for life and love and redemption.
