I won’t hazard a guess that most people have seen the clip of the nine year old girl on the school bus being mercilessly beaten by a fifteen year old boy<\/a>.\u00a0 But a lot have.<\/p>\n

The boy is black.\u00a0 The girl is light skinned and I’ve heard her described as white or Hispanic in various articles.<\/p>\n

So this is video will be a touchstone that will reveal the underlying point of view of the viewer.\u00a0 For many middle classed people, white or black, watching a skinny little 9 year old girl being pummeled by a powerful teenage boy is shocking and horrifying.\u00a0 Add into it the current effort by states to redistribute the largely black urban poor into the suburbs and this video would seem to confirm the worst fears of suburban parents.<\/p>\n

I’ve seen online videos made by black Americans denouncing those who point to this video as proof of the overtly violent culture of the black underclass.\u00a0 I think they’re wasting their time.\u00a0 You won’t convince most parents that what is seen in this video is normal behavior in a school bus.\u00a0 I’m guessing this video is producing a groundswell of applications to local private and religious schools around the country.<\/p>\n

Now here is a black law enforcement officer who isn’t playing the race card.\u00a0 He’s being honest about violence in the “black community.”\u00a0 Probably because he knows about it up close and personal.\u00a0 More black people will have to learn to speak honestly about the realities of the dysfunctional behaviors that are only getting worse in their community.\u00a0 How that happens I don’t know.\u00a0 But if it doesn’t get addressed white flight from blue states will be the only solution for people who don’t want their families victimized by the behavior seen in this video.<\/p>\n
