I spent my morning exercise time listening once again to the ZMan\u2019s Friday podcast<\/a>.\u00a0 And once again it was a very illuminating hour.\u00a0 Ostensibly it was about the degrading of college football.\u00a0 But really that was only a single example of corporatism\u2019s ability to dissolve the underlying value of an institution or business and convert it to short term gain.\u00a0 And the whole talk is extremely well done.\u00a0 It\u2019s like a lecture by a college professor who knows his material pat and who also happens to be a gifted orator.\u00a0 I\u2019ll stop raving about it now but if you are interested in hearing how we\u2019ve gotten into the mess we\u2019re in with the managerial state swallowing the federal government and just about every other institution give it a listen.<\/p>\n

After that I read through the news and my Twitter (I mean X<\/strong>) feed.\u00a0 It was a combination of more bad news from Washington and some small bits of hope from some of the less crazy parts of the nation.\u00a0 On balance I think the nation as a whole is growing tired of Biden\u2019s America.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t seen any organizing in order to begin taking control of things above the state level yet.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been hoping that more cooperative action would begin.\u00a0 But maybe the 2024 election is actually a barrier to people thinking in those terms until after it\u2019s lost.\u00a0 Maybe after the expected election fraud returns Biden to the White House next year people will realize that waiting to take back the federal government is a fool\u2019s errand.\u00a0 And that they have to control the things that they have power over and work around the things they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

A nice summer day today so I tried to find some macro shots (insects and flowers) but there weren\u2019t many bugs at all.\u00a0 It\u2019s as if the insects were on strike.\u00a0 Even the mosquitoes and deer flies were missing.\u00a0 But I found a dead toad and set it up as bait.\u00a0 Later on, I saw a carrion beetle sizing the toad up.\u00a0 We\u2019ll see what develops.<\/p>\n

I also tried to get some shots of Camera Girl\u2019s free-loading turkey flock but they were MIA.\u00a0 A little later I think I saw the reason.\u00a0 An adult fox showed up and made the rounds.\u00a0 It was a good-sized animal but the fur was very light in color.\u00a0 I asked Camera Girl if she thought it was one of the gray foxes but she said it had red in its fur.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m color blind but I could tell it was very light.\u00a0 It almost looked like a cream color to me.\u00a0 Well, anyway, I hope it didn\u2019t eat up all of Camera Girl\u2019s gobbling welfare recipients.\u00a0 She really does like them and I will admit I hear they eat lots of ticks and that\u2019s always a welcome situation.<\/p>\n

Now I don\u2019t pretend to know how much impact a thoroughly cynical electorate could have on the regime of the United States but I definitely think that it does have an impact on the behavior of the people who live as captives under this regime.\u00a0 One of the impacts is already being seen.\u00a0 A migration out of the blue states and into the red states is ongoing.\u00a0 People are doing everything they can to minimize their exposure to dysfunction.\u00a0 The same kind of thing is going on in other aspects of life.\u00a0 People are avoiding the public schools.\u00a0 They\u2019re looking for colleges that aren\u2019t propaganda internment camps.\u00a0 They\u2019re avoiding the chaotic blue-run cities.\u00a0 And lately they\u2019re even trying to punish companies that hate them through boycotts like the one that\u2019s currently strangling Bud Light to death.<\/p>\n

So maybe the grand total of all these small changes in behavior might have some bigger effects.\u00a0 All this remains to be seen.\u00a0 But watching this stuff is the only show in town.\u00a0 After all, saying the wrong thing will get you dragged off to the gulag or even shot in the street by the Stasi.\u00a0 Much better doing the things within your purview and just observing how stupid and obnoxious all these feds really are.<\/p>\n

So, the summer is winding down and there are a few more get togethers scheduled.\u00a0 The grandkids have been away this week at the beach and it sounds like they had a lot of fun.\u00a0 Now school is imminent and we\u2019ll see if they can spend the last week or two in the pool while their parents scramble to get things done.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had my one-on-ones with them and watched as much Godzilla and Jurassic Park as an alleged grownup possibly can and still survive.\u00a0 Soon it will be shifting over to Fall and the approach of Halloween.\u00a0 There are still a couple who haven\u2019t been initiated into the classics of Universal\u2019s Monster movies of the \u201830\u2019s and \u201840\u2019s.<\/p>\n
