Last year I watched Justified on Netflix discs. I thought it was great.\u00a0 I liked it so much I bought the blue-rays and watched it again.\u00a0 It was still great.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But I didn\u2019t want to burn the show out.\u00a0 So I asked around to see if there was anything else out there that was worth watching.\u00a0 One of my relatives suggested Longmire.\u00a0 He said it was a modern day western, a show about a sheriff in modern day Montana.\u00a0 It sounded odd but I figured why not.<\/p>\n
So me and Camera Girl have watched the first two discs. She thinks it\u2019s great.\u00a0 My reaction is slightly different.\u00a0 I like the main character.\u00a0 My problem is with the female characters.\u00a0 Sheriff Longmire has a daughter who is some kind of lawyer.\u00a0 She always seems to be whining about something.\u00a0 Either her father isn\u2019t doing something he should be or he is doing something he shouldn\u2019t be.\u00a0 It\u2019s very annoying.\u00a0 Then there\u2019s the female deputy from New Jersey.\u00a0 I thought we were done with the female cop who complains about being treated different than the guys.\u00a0 Apparently she hasn\u2019t gotten the memo.\u00a0 In one scene she starts gyrating on the stripper poll at a club to get the patrons to give her information and in the next scene she\u2019s threatening some cowboy for checking out her butt while she\u2019s walking in front of him.\u00a0 I mean, come on.\u00a0 Do we have to have this nonsense in a cop show?\u00a0 And there some other things.\u00a0 There\u2019s a believability thing sometimes.\u00a0 In one episode Longmire threatens to release a grizzly bear on a suspect unless he confesses to using a grizzly bear to murder his enemy.\u00a0 I\u2019m not 100%\u00a0 sure about this but I\u2019m guessing that might be considered a coerced confession.<\/p>\n

So there are some fantasy aspects to the plot lines in the show and the personal stories of the characters are a little shaky. The daughter I find especially annoying.\u00a0 I\u2019m hoping he gets that grizzly bear back and lets it eat her for real.\u00a0 But I actually do kinda like it so far.\u00a0 Camera Girl has adopted the show and I do like to keep her happy because she feeds me so I\u2019m going to keep watching it.\u00a0 If it goes completely off the deep end I will have to invoke male television primacy and call an end to it.\u00a0 But I confess it\u2019ll have to be really bad for that to happen.\u00a0 It\u2019s like Mueller.\u00a0 Trump can only pull the plug on him if the damage he is doing is worse than the fallout from the firing.\u00a0 Definitely a delicate judgement call.<\/p>\n
