{"id":2861,"date":"2018-05-11T14:53:23","date_gmt":"2018-05-11T18:53:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=2861"},"modified":"2018-05-11T14:53:23","modified_gmt":"2018-05-11T18:53:23","slug":"curbing-my-enthusiasm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/11\/curbing-my-enthusiasm\/","title":{"rendered":"Curbing My Enthusiasm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So yesterday I allowed my unbridled exuberance to get away from me (<a href=\"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/10\/the-trumpocalypse-picks-up-steam\/\">The Trumpocalypse Picks Up Steam<\/a>) and today I\u2019m feeling the let down as my feet touch the ground again.\u00a0 That\u2019s okay.\u00a0 It\u2019s better to try your wings once in a while, no harm done.\u00a0 But let\u2019s then look at the negative side of the picture today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The wall isn\u2019t built or even funded.<\/li>\n<li>Thirty million illegal aliens still inhabit the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Robert Mueller wants to interview President Trump.<\/li>\n<li>Justice Kennedy hasn\u2019t ended his reign of judicial terror.<\/li>\n<li>The Clintons still infest Planet Earth.<\/li>\n<li>Affirmative action is still the law of the land.<\/li>\n<li>Smarmy college students still hector the normal people about white privilege.<\/li>\n<li>Twitter, Google, YouTube, Facebook and Amazon still function as on-line speech police against the Right.<\/li>\n<li>Virtually every college in the country is a propaganda indoctrination center.<\/li>\n<li>California and New York (and several other states) criminally interfere with the enforcement actions of the Immigration &amp; Customs Enforcement agents.<\/li>\n<li>Nancy Pelosi hasn\u2019t been euthanized yet by either PETA or the American Humane Society.<\/li>\n<li>Rosie O\u2019Donnell hasn\u2019t yet been assigned the status of food aid, rendered into 250,000 MRE and flown to North Korea as part of the peace deal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well, okay, those last two were just added for fun but you get the picture.\u00a0 There\u2019s still plenty for President Trump to do in the second half of his first term.\u00a0 I shouldn\u2019t be so happy.\u00a0 It\u2019s unwarranted.\u00a0 And yet I am!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sorry, I can\u2019t feel down.\u00a0 Looking at all these problems only increases my belief that the Republicans despite their epic cowardice and stupidity will benefit from President Trump\u2019s popularity and hold onto the House and Senate.\u00a0 This won\u2019t be for their sake but it will be the American people\u2019s desire to help Donald Trump.\u00a0 And I think the Mueller investigation will end without doing any real damage to the Trump Administration.\u00a0 And I think that Sessions will finally clean out the rat\u2019s nest of cabalists in the Justice Department.\u00a0 And I now believe that President Trump will get to appoint at least one more Supreme Court Justice.\u00a0\u00a0 And finally, I\u2019ll go out on a limb and say that the Supreme Court will find in favor of the baker in that Gay Marriage Wedding Cake Trial travesty.\u00a0 And that last one is just a hunch.\u00a0 Common sense says that Kennedy will go out with one last assault on normal Americans.\u00a0 But somehow the change in the climate makes me think Kennedy will try and strike a balance if for no other reason than to moderate the anger that is growing on the right toward all these outrages against common decency.<\/p>\n<p>So there it is.\u00a0 I\u2019m slap happy from all the winning.\u00a0 Maybe I\u2019m completely delusional.\u00a0 Time will tell.\u00a0 But the sun is shining, the birds are singing and all\u2019s right with the world in this best of all possible worlds.\u00a0 Well except that Nancy Pelosi and Rosie O\u2019Donnell still walk the earth.\u00a0 Well, that can wait for the second term I guess.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So yesterday I allowed my unbridled exuberance to get away from me (The Trumpocalypse Picks Up Steam) and today I\u2019m feeling the let down as<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5,818,6],"tags":[16,540,666],"class_list":["post-2861","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","category-ocf","category-trump","tag-trump","tag-trumpocalypse","tag-unbridled-enthusiasm"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 -
