Suspense \u2013 Alfred Hitchcock<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m faking a lot of thinking here with this category.\u00a0 Alfred Hitchcock usually can be considered as a creator of crime or specifically murder stories.\u00a0 But sometimes it\u2019s a spy story or something really crazy like birds turning against humanity.\u00a0 So, suspense is probably as good a label as anything else.<\/p>\n

For most of his career Hitchcock produced very high-quality product.\u00a0 At his peak he could get the best actors and lavish budgets to make his films.\u00a0 But even on a shoestring like with Psycho he could produce a memorable movie.\u00a0 At the very end he did produce some awful stuff.\u00a0 I assume he was beginning to fail due to old age.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve reviewed most of these movies separately if you want my detailed opinion on them.\u00a0 But here\u2019s a list of what I liked in Hitchcock\u2019s output.\u00a0 I still haven\u2019t seen all his films but there are enough to form more than a good list of his best stuff.<\/p>\n

  12. Rear Window (1954)<\/li>\n
  13. To Catch a Thief (1955)<\/li>\n
  14. The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)<\/li>\n
  15. North by Northwest (1959)<\/li>\n
  16. Psycho (1960)<\/li>\n
  17. The Birds (1963)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If I left out one of your favorites or if you detest one of my listed films, feel free to speak up and make your Hitchcockian opinions known in the comments below.\u00a0 People are usually very decided in their feelings about his films, one way or the other.\u00a0 For instance, film aficionados consider \u201cVertigo\u201d Hitchcock\u2019s greatest masterpiece and a seminal work of cinematic importance.\u00a0 But being a philistine, I despise it.\u00a0 So, I left it out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
