{"id":29845,"date":"2024-07-31T09:38:29","date_gmt":"2024-07-31T13:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=29845"},"modified":"2024-07-31T09:38:29","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T13:38:29","slug":"kiev-and-nato-begin-preparing-the-west-for-eventual-capitulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/31\/kiev-and-nato-begin-preparing-the-west-for-eventual-capitulation\/","title":{"rendered":"Kiev and NATO Begin Preparing the West for Eventual Capitulation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All of the various media outlets in the West are beginning to admit that not only are the Russians making significant gains along the length of the war front but that the size of the Russian army is beginning to overwhelm the ability of the Ukrainian armed forces to hold it back.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/07\/31\/world\/europe\/ukraine-russia-peace-mood.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">As War Gets Bleaker, More Ukrainians Appear Open to a Peace Deal<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.welt.de\/politik\/ausland\/plus252746254\/Russlands-Krieg-Die-duestere-Ukraine-Realitaet-ueber-die-Nato-Insider-nur-anonym-sprechen-wollen.html?utm_source=substack&amp;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;The Gloomy Ukraine Reality That NATO Insiders Only Want to Talk About Anonymously&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;In Brussels, almost no one expects Ukraine to regain its lost areas. Only nobody wants to talk about it \u2013 at least officially. WELT has spoken to a number of insiders who justify their bleak outlook with a fact that Europe itself is indebted to.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russia has been ramping up the number of soldiers it fields while the Ukrainians have hit a wall.\u00a0 Recruitment is being resisted by flight, concealment and lately by attacks on the recruiters.\u00a0 One tactic being used is to burn the vehicles that the recruiters use as they travel around the country, dragging &#8220;recruits&#8221; out of their homes.<\/p>\n<p>Russia opened up a new front in the north (Kharkiv) that many believe is a feint to draw away resources from the main areas of advance in the east.<\/p>\n<p>All along the Donetsk front slow but steady advance has been the experience ever since the breakthrough at Avdiivka in the spring.\u00a0 Of late the exhaustion of the Ukrainian soldiers is beginning to show.\u00a0 It will probably accelerate as the retreat moves into areas that do not have the extensive tunnels and reinforced bunkers that were provided in places like Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Chasiv Yar.<\/p>\n<p>Of course nothing is assured in war but it seems increasingly likely that Kiev will be looking for a peace settlement after November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All of the various media outlets in the West are beginning to admit that not only are the Russians making significant gains along the length<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[3107,3568,3942],"class_list":["post-29845","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","tag-russia","tag-ukraine","tag-ukraine-war"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 -
