Thursday was just such a busy day that I didn\u2019t get anything done on the site until late at night.\u00a0 I had to process some photos and set them up.\u00a0 And so late at night how can I think of a topic no less speak intelligently on it?\u00a0 My mind is a spent force.\u00a0 So, I\u2019ve just watched Orson Welles\u2019 \u201cChimes at Midnight.\u201d\u00a0 This was Welles\u2019 cut and paste job from the two Henry IV plays to showcase Falstaff and his time with Prince Hal.<\/p>\n
And it\u2019s a brilliant idea that should be remade again.\u00a0 But who could be Falstaff now?\u00a0 Who\u2019s funny enough?\u00a0 Who\u2019s fat enough.\u00a0 Who can act Shakespeare?\u00a0 No one.<\/p>\n
But no reason to be gloomy.\u00a0 These things will turn around.\u00a0 All the nonsense that has been pushed on the kids for the last thirty years will not last.\u00a0 All of it is rot that won\u2019t last.\u00a0 All those who truly believe it are self-selecting themselves for extinction and they will leave room for those who don\u2019t.\u00a0 There are plenty who make believe that they believe for self-preservation.\u00a0 But when the winds change, as they already are changing, they\u2019ll move on to where their advantage lies.<\/p>\n
I was watching the movie \u201cFury\u201d today with one of my friends.\u00a0 I had never seen it.\u00a0 Brad Pitt is an American tanker in WWII.\u00a0 He and his men including a raw recruit are deep into German territory in 1945 and everywhere they turn they\u2019re hip-deep in death.\u00a0 The action and personal actions of the soldiers are as gritty as can be.\u00a0 I won\u2019t give away the plot but suffice it to say that the tank crew was beyond hardened.\u00a0 They were approaching psychotic.\u00a0 But they had a camaraderie that was stirring.\u00a0 My friend told me that the movie\u2019s ending was based on a true story although instead of an American tank in WWII it was based on a British tank in WWI.\u00a0 Well, it is a rousing battle scene.<\/p>\n
You know, YouTube is an interesting concept.\u00a0 They must know I\u2019m writing a novel because I keep finding videos on fiction-writing in my feed.\u00a0 And one of them was by Vonnegut.\u00a0 And I watched it and it reminded of when I met the guy by accident at the carousel in Central Park.\u00a0 And it\u2019s funny, I wasn\u2019t a fan of his writing but he came across very friendly and normal.\u00a0 And it got me thinking which other celebrities are regular people when you meet them off the cuff.\u00a0 I once spoke to a car service driver who brought people in and out of the Northeast casinos.\u00a0 He said Jerry Seinfeld was an arrogant jerk.\u00a0 Well, I won\u2019t say that shocked me.\u00a0 The one guy I\u2019d really like to meet completely candidly is Donald Trump.\u00a0 He\u2019s a complete enigma.\u00a0 How much of the Trump we see is real and how much is make believe?\u00a0 And is he crazy?\u00a0 Well, I\u2019ll never find out so I\u2019ll just have to keep making stuff up.<\/p>\n
I hope to catch up on the website chores tomorrow so I\u2019m not working from behind.\u00a0 I guess Dunwich is a busy mythical place where even humans find themselves trapped in warped space-time.\u00a0 But this will have to do for tonight.\u00a0 Good night and good morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
