About four years ago I was watching a podcast by Andrew Klavan.\u00a0 And this was at the height of bad things happening.\u00a0 I guess I was as negative as I\u2019d ever been.\u00a0 I can\u2019t remember the exact topic of this video but at a point in the exposition he addressed all the ground the Right had lost over the years to the Left and he seemed to know what I was thinking and said something like, \u201cAll of this stuff can be reversed.\u201d<\/p>\n
And at the time my mind rejected that statement.\u00a0 So many things had been normalized by the Left and generations had grown up thinking of these things as the status quo that I just couldn\u2019t see how it could be turned around.\u00a0 Part of the reason was I knew that the Republican establishment had already adopted all of these changes into their worldview.\u00a0 They\u2019d even accepted giving citizenship to unlimited illegal aliens just so the Democrats wouldn\u2019t call them mean names.\u00a0 At that point the only half way measure I could think of to avoid the end of freedom in America was to move to a red state like Florida and hope that the governor would resist all of the communism for as long as it was possible.\u00a0 I even contemplated moving to Hungary and learning to speak Magyar.\u00a0 There at least they aren\u2019t ashamed of being of European heritage.<\/p>\n
Fast forward four years and we see that Trump has smashed all kinds of barriers.\u00a0 He isn\u2019t shy about saying that something that\u2019s wrong or crazy is wrong or crazy.\u00a0 What he\u2019s doing to DEI and affirmative action in general is completely revolutionary from the perspective of the last sixty five years of progressive change.\u00a0 He\u2019s trashing everything that\u2019s happened since the Johnson administration.\u00a0 And he\u2019s not asking permission.\u00a0 He\u2019s just doing it.\u00a0 Sure the corrupt judges are fighting him tooth and nail but he\u2019s doing it anyway.\u00a0 Even if he fails at some things he\u2019s pushing in all directions at once and he\u2019s got the bastards on the run.<\/p>\n
So, four years later and I finally learn that Andrew Klavan was kinda right.\u00a0 Now, it took a trump to unleash the power of the executive branch under a strong, determined president but it does show you that hopelessness is in a sense weakness.\u00a0 Trump is succeeding because he had the sense to see that the people running the show were doing the things they were doing despite what the majority of Americans wanted.\u00a0 It was an illusion that we were outnumbered and that the Democrats were about to become the permanent majority.\u00a0 Half of their \u201ccoalition\u201d can\u2019t stand their messaging.\u00a0 All that was needed was someone talking sense and making a case for sanity and prosperity.\u00a0 Even minority voters are starting to tire of the \u201call white people are racist\u201d trope.\u00a0 They\u2019re more interested in someone restarting the economy and producing well-paying jobs where they live.<\/p>\n
So all these years later, I just want to say, Andrew Klavan, you were right.\u00a0 Crazy doesn\u2019t have to be forever and we can begin winning the culture war if we have leaders who actually want to win.\u00a0 And there\u2019s a special bonus that comes along with this.\u00a0 I get to enjoy the schadenfreude as RINO bums like Liz Cheney and Mitch McConnell get kicked to the curb.\u00a0 What a beautiful world.<\/p>\n
