{"id":33038,"date":"2025-04-28T05:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T09:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=33038"},"modified":"2025-04-27T21:02:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T01:02:37","slug":"women-in-the-military-god-help-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/28\/women-in-the-military-god-help-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Women in the Military \u2013 God Help Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I saw two stories today about the military and both of them were associated in one way or another with women and DEI.<\/p>\n<p>The first one has to do with Defense Secretary Hegseth\u2019s orders to force women to pass the same physical fitness tests as men for combat and other physically challenging roles.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ranger School &amp; Combat Fitness Standards CHANGED . Much HARDER.\" width=\"783\" height=\"440\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QdSGGd8g_cQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>You would think this should already be in place since women claim not to be inferior to men in any way.\u00a0 But reality rears its ugly head and now this will essentially eliminate 99.9% of female candidates from the special forces organizations and a very large chunk of women from even basic combat roles.<\/p>\n<p>This is one of the first things I see happening in the Trump administration that I can point to as a clear improvement on the status quo.\u00a0 Ever since Obama the military has been woke and women in command positions has been a big part of the problem.\u00a0 Hopefully now a lot of combat officer positions will be restricted to men and that should have a very positive effect on our combat capability.\u00a0 Now if there are women who are physically capable of pulling their own weight in combat circumstances, I don\u2019t necessarily think they should be in combat roles.\u00a0 There are other problems with mixing women and men in close physical quarters.\u00a0 But at the very least eliminating women who aren\u2019t strong enough to fight from the equation is a big plus.<\/p>\n<p>The second story is a NY Times article about the investigation of the crash of the Black Hawk helicopter and the civilian airliner near Ronald Reagan airport.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesnownews.com\/world\/us\/us-news\/black-hawk-pilot-rebecca-lobach-ignored-key-instruction-before-dc-crashreportclaims-article-151511950\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.timesnownews.com\/world\/us\/us-news\/black-hawk-pilot-rebecca-lobach-ignored-key-instruction-before-dc-crashreportclaims-article-151511950<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first item is that the pilot was a woman who was performing a periodic training flight to maintain her flight status.\u00a0 The article says she had 500 hours of flying experience at that time.\u00a0 But the most disturbing aspect of the article was the statement that the control tower had warned her of the collision danger and her trainer told her to change course to the left to avoid the collision and she did not.\u00a0 She had fifteen seconds to change course and she did not.\u00a0 In addition, the female pilot had some linkage to the Biden White House.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t see any details about what her role was.\u00a0 But that immediately raised a red flag in my mind.<\/p>\n<p>So, it\u2019s very easy for me to immediately take these details and say that this disaster was caused by DEI.\u00a0 Is that fair?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know, but as a first approximation I think it\u2019s a reasonable starting hypothesis.\u00a0 If even the NY Times is throwing this woman under the bus, then who am I not to cast the second stone?\u00a0 And this goes hand in hand with a number of stories I\u2019ve read of women in the military whose aircraft and naval vessel piloting have been less than adequate.\u00a0 When I think of Camera Girl behind the wheel of her car and all the times I\u2019ve told her to go left and she\u2019s gone right (or other-left as she calls it) I get the sense that DEI can be a recipe for disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Well, anyway, Pete Hegseth, keep going the way you are.\u00a0 Put women back in the kitchen and the nursery and everyone will be that much safer and happier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/theothermccain.com\/2025\/04\/27\/death-by-equality\/\">Here\u2019s another more detailed article about the female helicopter pilot.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I saw two stories today about the military and both of them were associated in one way or another with women and DEI.
