All week long I\u2019ve been seeing polls on patriotism.\u00a0 Apparently, the Millennials and Gen Z aren\u2019t patriotic.\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 But why would they be?\u00a0 Patriotism implies pride in a nation.\u00a0 But we aren\u2019t a nation.\u00a0 We\u2019re at least two nations, probably more.\u00a0 Maybe these younger people are proud of people like them whom they feel are good people who believe in the right things.\u00a0 And in fact, for many of them the right thing is globalism.\u00a0 So, the \u201cnation\u201d they believe in isn\u2019t a nation at all.\u00a0 It\u2019s the borderless \u201cfamily of humanity.\u201d\u00a0 Instead of pride in the history and people of this \u201cnation\u201d they are deeply disturbed by the Europeans who settled and built America.\u00a0 All they see is theft from the indigenous people and the enslavement of the Africans.<\/p>\n
So where does that leave the rest of us?\u00a0 Well obviously, we have no solidarity with people who despise us.\u00a0 They aren\u2019t our countrymen because they feel no allegiance to this nation.\u00a0 Their allegiance is to a future in which the memory of this country\u2019s birth and rise are eliminated and anyone who shows up here is just as much an American as people whose families built it.\u00a0 What we have is the story of America as a legacy for us and our children, at least the children who aren\u2019t in the globalist camp.\u00a0 We need to pass along the legacy and the understanding of what a remarkable accomplishment the European settlers achieved.\u00a0 They took a wilderness and turned it into a magnificent patchwork of farmlands and cities and industrial might and communities of strong intelligent people who invented amazing things that had never been seen before in the history of the world.\u00a0 And made their home the envy of the old world.<\/p>\n
Right now, patriotism isn\u2019t something that most people associate with 21st<\/sup> century America.\u00a0 Maybe it will be necessary for a separation between those who love this country and those who are ashamed of its history.\u00a0 Maybe we must split into two separate nations before there can be a patriotic rebirth in the United States.\u00a0 If that happens, I think it would more quickly solve our problems.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t appear as if any other ending will provide a solution to the division that has grown up within our ranks.\u00a0 We no longer believe in the same things.\u00a0 We no longer are the same people.\u00a0 We are moving in two opposite directions.\u00a0 It would only make sense for us to live in separate countries.<\/p>\n Maybe the current battles over deportation of illegal immigrants will inspire California to decide on secession.\u00a0 It would require a constitutional amendment and possibly more.\u00a0 But if they were willing, I think the rest of the country would go along gladly.\u00a0 Who knows?\u00a0 Maybe the rest of the west coast and the Northeast would join with them.\u00a0 And Canada could act as a northern link between the coasts and maybe a few other states like Illinois and Minnesota could join them.\u00a0 It could really work.\u00a0 They\u2019d be rid of us and we\u2019d be much happier without them.\u00a0 And then both new entities would be free to come up with their own version of patriotism.\u00a0 And boy would they differ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" All week long I\u2019ve been seeing polls on patriotism.\u00a0 Apparently, the Millennials and Gen Z aren\u2019t patriotic.\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 But why would they be?\u00a0 Patriotism implies<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[1776,3727],"class_list":["post-33768","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","tag-american-nations","tag-patriotism"],"yoast_head":"\n
