Friday will be a very long day.\u00a0 Excuse my absence from the site.\u00a0 I\u2019ll do my best to catch up later.<\/p>\n

Well, I\u2019ll have to say I was shocked that Hamas gave up the twenty living hostages.\u00a0 I am a little suspicious of their claiming to not have all of the remains of the dead hostages.\u00a0 Maybe they\u2019re still holding onto some of the living that way.\u00a0 But all in all, it seems like the Arabs are applying the screws to Hamas and that is a good sign.\u00a0 Trump is getting some credit even from the leftist media and that is also encouraging.<\/p>\n

And I hear that the Supreme Court is about to declare some parts of the Voting Rights Act unconstitutional.\u00a0 Specifically, I think they\u2019ll say that the present maximizing of black representation is a form of anti-white discrimination and that may be an incredible change to the breakdown of seats between the Democrats and Republicans in places like Alabama and Mississippi.\u00a0 Good.\u00a0 Gerrymandering makes a 60\/40 state like Massachusetts into a 100\/0 state in terms of representation.\u00a0 There are zero Republicans in the US House of Representatives from Massachusetts.\u00a0 Why should there be any Democratic reps in places like Oklahoma or Utah?\u00a0 Just draw the district maps so that the Republican suburbs and exurbs out number the urban Democrat strongholds and presto change-o no Democrat reps!\u00a0 Sounds like a plan.\u00a0 Thank you, Massachusetts!<\/p>\n

Now I hear Trump is going to meet with Zelensky and then give the Ukrainians Tomahawk missiles.\u00a0 That\u2019s a very powerful weapons system.\u00a0 And then I hear he\u2019s going to meet with Putin.\u00a0 Well, he\u2019s really going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to end this war.\u00a0 But let him try.\u00a0 I just hope we don\u2019t start taking incoming from Russian surrogates.\u00a0 I was just beginning to hope Trump was serious about making the world more peaceful.\u00a0 Fingers crossed.<\/p>\n

Even though we\u2019ve already had frost on the ground Camera Girl was able to find a live preying mantis in the yard and now it\u2019s taking up residence in our house.\u00a0 She even bought some crickets at Petco and hopes to keep it alive for the duration.\u00a0 I warned her this might be a very short reprieve.\u00a0 I think they\u2019re not programmed to live very long after maturity.\u00a0 Well, I hope to take some macro shots of our little houseguest before he kicks off.<\/p>\n

Unbelievably we\u2019re still getting raspberries from the patch and we had them today with vanilla ice cream.\u00a0 But we\u2019re down to the nitty-gritty.\u00a0 I think we\u2019ll be getting a hard freeze in the next week or so.\u00a0 And I\u2019ve taken a bunch of photos of the wolfbane because by Halloween they\u2019ll be wilted too.\u00a0 Today the bees and the flies were the only insect life I saw around the yard.<\/p>\n

So, a beautiful September and beginning of October is transitioning to more wintery weather but spirits are high and with any luck I\u2019ll survive my three-week ordeal with First Selectman Cthulhu with only superficial damage.<\/p>\n
