{"id":35586,"date":"2025-12-25T05:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T10:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=35586"},"modified":"2025-12-24T23:58:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T04:58:08","slug":"merry-christmas-day-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/25\/merry-christmas-day-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Merry Christmas Day 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, here we are.\u00a0 We made it to the end of the year and now we get to spend a few days reflecting on the year and looking forward to the next one.\u00a0 Christmas Day will be a family gathering here at the Compound and we\u2019ll be stuffing ourselves with rich foods and desserts and basically enjoying each other\u2019s company for the day that the kids and those who are young at heart wait all year for.\u00a0 It sounds like we\u2019ll be lucky and have a day without snow.\u00a0 The grass is still covered with the two inches that are left over from the last few days but the driveways are pretty clean for the cars to get in and out.<\/p>\n<p>Camera Girl has worked mightily for the last few days shopping and cooking and baking up a storm and there will be a roast beast and lasagna and all the fixin\u2019s.\u00a0 My oldest grandson is graduating college and we\u2019ve been talking about applying for jobs and also all of the latest technical innovations in the computer and information fields.\u00a0 He told me about the computer that is now available that uses a chunk of brain cells to play pong.\u00a0 That had me shaking my head.\u00a0 But I\u2019m sure crazier things are in the future.\u00a0 Maybe someday they\u2019ll grow an entire brain in a vat and then the Matrix will be for real.<\/p>\n<p>Well, I\u2019ll try to look in on the site sometime tomorrow.\u00a0 But here\u2019s hoping everyone has the best Christmas Day they can.<\/p>\n<p>Merry Christmas to all of you and yours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, here we are.\u00a0 We made it to the end of the year and now we get to spend a few days reflecting on the<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5,3366,1263,2860],"tags":[94,4488],"class_list":["post-35586","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","category-life-in-dunwich","category-stuff-that-personally-interests-me-miscellaneous","category-reclaiming-the-family","tag-christmas","tag-family-gathering"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 -
