For most of my life the United States has been in the throes of a culture war.\u00a0 It hasn\u2019t always been described in those terms and sometimes the battles weren\u2019t as visible as they are now.\u00a0 But anyway you measure it, the world has been preoccupied with the Left\u2019s struggle to make over people and society in a non-traditional form.\u00a0 It mostly became apparent in the 1960s with the hippies and the other non-traditional activities.\u00a0 Roe v. Wade was a major event.\u00a0 It quieted down a little during the 1980s but it never really retreated and by the time Barack Obama was in the White House normalcy more or less disappeared from this country.<\/p>\n
I would say that Donald Trump\u2019s appearance in 2016 was the first time in my lifetime that someone was willing to point at all the things that were wrong with the way things were being done and say. \u201cI will change these things back to the way they should be.\u201d\u00a0 And then he went about doing what he said he would do.\u00a0 He\u2019s attacked illegal immigration and all the things it causes; high healthcare costs, huge budget deficits, crime, low wages, anti-white hate, government fraud, voter fraud and on and on.<\/p>\n
And when he tried to implement his fixes both political parties attacked him with everything they had.\u00a0 They started a race war and tried to lock down the country in order to commit enormous voter fraud.\u00a0 But after hell and high water he got back in the White House in 2025 and now he\u2019s quintupling down on deporting illegal aliens and trying to improve the economy for real Americans.\u00a0 He\u2019s done as much as can be done to bring back jobs from overseas and anything else that can make things work better in this country.<\/p>\n
And I give him full marks for trying.\u00a0 Will it be enough to accomplish all of his goals?\u00a0 I\u2019ll guess it won\u2019t.\u00a0 Will he lose the Congress in 2026?\u00a0 Maybe.\u00a0 But I don\u2019t see how that can be his fault.\u00a0 The world is a rough place and American voters aren\u2019t all that bright.\u00a0 They are easily distracted by pain of any kind.\u00a0 But the question that I\u2019m trying to answer is will we see the culture war decisively turn in our favor in the years to come?<\/p>\n
I know what answer I want.\u00a0 I want to believe that people have learned enough to see what\u2019s in their best interests.\u00a0 If they want their children and grandchildren to be prosperous and free they need to keep the Left out of power and strip away all of the progressive laws that have crippled Americans\u2019 ability to thrive.\u00a0 And there is some hope on that front.\u00a0 The present Supreme Court is overturning laws that allow for things like affirmative action that are obviously unconstitutional and always were.\u00a0 But will this effort continue or stall out?<\/p>\n
