{"id":5032,"date":"2018-11-07T08:50:37","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T13:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/?p=5032"},"modified":"2018-11-07T15:29:40","modified_gmt":"2018-11-07T20:29:40","slug":"07nov2018-the-morning-after-the-mid-terms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orionscoldfire.com\/index.php\/2018\/11\/07\/07nov2018-the-morning-after-the-mid-terms\/","title":{"rendered":"07NOV2018 \u2013 The Morning \u00a0After the Mid-Terms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, where are we?\u00a0 Well, we\u2019ve got a comfortable margin in the Senate finally.\u00a0 Once Montana and Arizona count the Indian county votes we should end up with 55 \u2013 45.\u00a0 The House has a thin Democrat majority but that\u2019s still enough for Pelosi and company (or whoever they make Speaker) to annoy the President with investigations and completely stymie any legislation.\u00a0 Basically what we had under Paul Ryan, so no big deal.<\/p>\n<p>I guess the biggest change is that Trump doesn\u2019t have to wait any longer if he wants to fire Sessions and the rest of the Justice Department.\u00a0 And that\u2019s a big question.\u00a0 Does he want to do it?\u00a0 I hope he does.\u00a0 That would be exciting.\u00a0 I think if he is going to do it it\u2019ll be during the Lame Duck session.\u00a0 That\u2019s a narrow window.\u00a0 We\u2019ll know soon.<\/p>\n<p>The safer margin in the Senate will also allow easier approval of not only judges but also Cabinet heads.\u00a0 Once Sessions, Rosenstein and Mueller are gone he can get his own guys in easily enough and maybe even put in a good special prosecutor to go after the Deep State, Obama cronies and Clinton shenanigans that have been such an outrage for the last few years.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, it wasn\u2019t a bad night.\u00a0 But let\u2019s hope we can do a lot better in the coming months.\u00a0 First things first, fire Sessions, clean out the rat\u2019s nest and start going after employers who ignore illegal status and start deporting large numbers of illegals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>3:30 pm Update &#8211; Jeff Sessions resigns!\u00a0 Well, well.\u00a0 Onward and upward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, where are we?\u00a0 Well, we\u2019ve got a comfortable margin in the Senate finally.\u00a0 Once Montana and Arizona count the Indian county votes we should<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[5,6],"tags":[1414],"class_list":["post-5032","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-current-events","category-trump","tag-2018-mid-terms"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.4 -
