When every church and social organization from the Roman Catholic Church to the Boy Scouts has been compromised you have to rebuild from the ground up.\u00a0 I know it has to be done but how do you start?\u00a0 Do you emphasize the religious aspect of the effort or do you concentrate on the family and cultural concerns?\u00a0 I guess eventually all of these facets come into play if you\u2019re trying to reclaim your world but it is without a doubt a daunting task.\u00a0 Even the idea seems ridiculously ambitious.\u00a0 But from my point of view there doesn\u2019t seem to be any other way forward.\u00a0 All the existing institutions and groups have surrendered completely.\u00a0 No other way forward exists except starting from scratch and creating something that hasn\u2019t been deformed by the madness of the modern world.\u00a0 It\u2019s going to involve selecting members one by one.\u00a0 Everyone will have to be vouched for ahead of time.\u00a0 Writing a charter will be important but what does it require?\u00a0 What does it forbid?\u00a0 It has to support activities that are important to families.\u00a0 It has to include activities that include different age groups.\u00a0 Children sports is a natural part.\u00a0 A women\u2019s auxiliary would be an idea.\u00a0 But the leadership has to be adult men.\u00a0 Fathers and especially grandfathers have to step up and start contributing to keeping the culture alive.\u00a0 And eventually we\u2019ll need a curriculum for after school teaching, sort of a Sunday School for traditionalists.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll have to reread Rod Dreher\u2019s \u201cThe Benedict Option\u201d to see what practical information he includes for organizing a reclamation.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if anything will come of this or not but it feels like the only really important thing I can do to help this degraded culture we are embedded in.\u00a0 If anyone knows of information that would be useful pass it along.\u00a0 To be continued.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
