DT:\u00a0 Until our NSF man is appointed I need to get someone to get the eggheads working on something for me.<\/p>\n
MP:\u00a0 Sure I\u2019ll get someone on the phone right away and have them line up the subject matter experts you need.\u00a0 What is the subject?<\/p>\n
DT:\u00a0 Nukes.<\/p>\n
MP:\u00a0 Mr. President, isn\u2019t it a little early in the term to start rattling sabres?<\/p>\n
DT:\u00a0 No not bombs, power plants.<\/p>\n
MP:\u00a0 But why Mr. President?\u00a0 With fracking and the lower prices it isn\u2019t economical to build nuclear power plants.<\/p>\n
DT:\u00a0 Think big Mike.\u00a0 Sure, oil\u2019s cheap now but it isn\u2019t infinite.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got to look for a fuel that will still be around in a thousand years and solve the problems before we’re already using it.<\/p>\n
MP:\u00a0 Alright, that\u2019s true.\u00a0 But right now the environmentalists are up in arms about the climate change thing and are ready to start a war with you.<\/p>\n
DT:\u00a0 Exactly.\u00a0 And that\u2019s how I\u2019m gonna sell it to them.\u00a0 I\u2019ll make them put their money where their mouths are.<\/p>\n
MP:\u00a0 How?<\/p>\n
DT:\u00a0 I\u2019ll simply say if they believe that global warming is real then they must support an alternative to fossil fuels.\u00a0 It\u2019s just been shown how useless wind and solar are for practical power generation.\u00a0 I\u2019ll tell them if they want to save the planet, they\u2019ll have to sign on to this initiative.\u00a0 They\u2019ll be too scared to admit the whole thing was a hoax so they\u2019ll be backed into a corner.\u00a0 And once they agree it\u2019ll utterly piss off the Gaia crowd who hate nukes worse than they hate me.\u00a0 It\u2019s a real win win.<\/p>\n
MP:\u00a0 Sounds like an interesting idea.\u00a0 Where do you intend to locate this new project?<\/p>\n

DT:\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 Well I was a teenager when my parents brought me to it.\u00a0 And I saw a vision of the future that included unlimited power, space travel, a cure for cancer and flying cars.\u00a0 Well I\u2019m seventy years old and the only space age thing I see is the cell phone in my pocket.<\/p>\n
That doesn\u2019t cut it.<\/p>\n
My grandkids are going to live in a world without limits. \u00a0I\u2019m tired of losers whining about why we can\u2019t do the things we know we can do.\u00a0 And I think it\u2019s about time we start doing them.\u00a0 I\u2019m also going to restart the space program.\u00a0 But we\u2019re gonna need a better propulsion system to get to Mars.\u00a0 I saw Matt Damon raising potatoes in his own poop because it took two years to get to Mars.\u00a0 With nukes we could get there in two weeks.\u00a0 That\u2019s what we\u2019re gonna do.<\/p>\n
